Samsung Electronics today announced the beta release of Samsung Internet for PC, expanding its popular mobile browser1 to desktop. Samsung Internet for PC delivers a seamless, connected browsing experience across Samsung devices and marks the first step toward Samsung Internet becoming a gateway to truly ambient AI across the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem.

“As we expand Samsung Internet to PC, we’re excited to invite users to shape the future of browsing with us,” said Won-Joon Choi, Chief Operating Officer of the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “This beta program unlocks a more connected experience across mobile and PC, while setting the stage for more intelligent browsing experiences to come. Looking ahead, Samsung Internet’s capabilities will redefine how users interact with the web, evolving from a PC browser that waits for input to an integrated AI platform that understands users while protecting personal data at every level.”

Seamless Experience Across Mobile and PC

Designed to bridge mobile and desktop, Samsung Internet for PC allows users to sync their browsing data, such as bookmarks and browsing history. Personal data is also synchronized with Samsung Pass, helping users sign in to websites or autofill profiles securely across devices.2 Additionally, users will now be prompted to resume browsing when switching between mobile devices and PC, enabling a more seamless, cross-device web experience.3

As users move more fluidly between devices, Samsung Internet for PC also adds a new layer of intelligence powered by Galaxy AI, designed to make browsing smarter and more efficient. When logged into their Samsung Account, users can access some key Galaxy AI capabilities like Browsing Assist for instant webpage summarization and translation, helping them find the information they need faster.

Secure Browsing on Galaxy Devices

Samsung Internet for PC is built on Galaxy’s trusted foundation of privacy and security, ensuring users can embrace connected and intelligent browsing with confidence. Smart anti-tracking helps block third-party web tracker attempts to collect personal information, while the Privacy Dashboard lets users view and manage their protections in real time. Samsung Internet is designed for the future of browsing – bringing users safe, reliable and intelligent experiences that don’t compromise on security or trust.

A Smarter Browsing Future

Samsung Internet for PC will unlock even richer, more intuitive browsing experiences for users across the Galaxy ecosystem. This milestone advances Samsung’s vision for ambient AI, wherein AI is seamlessly integrated into everyday life. From proactively anticipating user needs to delivering personalized assistance, Samsung is laying the groundwork for a browser that evolves with its users and devices.

Availability

Samsung Internet for PC beta will be available to users of Windows 11 and Windows 10 (version 1809 and above) starting October 30, 2025, in the United States and Korea, with plans for broader expansion to follow. Users can learn more about Samsung Internet for PC and sign up for beta program access at browser.samsung.com/beta.

The recently-launched Galaxy S22 series has received rave reviews from Galaxy fans for its cutting-edge features that have set the standard for phones when it comes to getting work done.

From the moment you wake up to the moment you clock out, how can you use the Galaxy S22 series to make the most of your workday? With convenient features such as digital car keys, enhanced notetaking and more, check out the user guide below to follow a productive day in the life of a Galaxy user.

[7:00 a.m.] Dress To Impress With Sleek and Durable Technology

Apart from when we’re asleep, our smartphones rarely leave our hands throughout the day. Smartphones are, decidedly, a fashion statement for our daily life. The Galaxy S22+ features rounded edges and a sleek, Contour-Cut design that seamlessly blends the body, frame and rear camera. The Galaxy S22+ is available in various colors, including Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green and Pink Gold. The device is the perfect go-to accessory for stylish consumers who want a refined look.

Adding to its sophisticated design, the S22 is also very durable — a big plus if you often drop your smartphone. For the first time in the Galaxy S22 series, each phone is surrounded by a polished, protective Armor Aluminum frame. The S22 is also the first Samsung smartphone fitted with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and back panels, providing even more durability, scratch resistance and protection.

[8:00 a.m.] Lighten Your Commute With a Digital Car Key

Users can now lighten their pockets with the digital key feature from Galaxy S22 Ultra’s Samsung Pass, which lets you unlock your car with your smartphone. Now, you can simplify your morning routine and ensure that you never forget your car keys at home again.

[10:00 a.m.] Take and Share Notes in an Instant With the S Pen

When you’re taking part in a productive morning meeting, it can often be fast-paced. Rather than panic, you can easily jot down notes and keep up with the conversation using your S Pen. The Galaxy S22 Ultra supports a built-in stylus, which provides a notetaking experience that is as easy and convenient as writing on a page. Even when the smartphone screen is locked, you can simply take out the S Pen to open Screen Off Memo.

Even if your morning meeting is running over, there’s still plenty of space on your device to take notes. When you tap on the arrow button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, the memo smoothly turns to the next page as if you’re turning the page of a book. Once you’re finished, simply save the entire note in the Samsung Notes application. The app also allows for easy, instant sharing with coworkers who could not attend the meeting.

With the S Pen and the Samsung Notes application in hand, you can rest easy knowing that you can annotate any document, even if you don’t have a hard copy. By opening up a file in the Samsung Notes application in advance, you can still take notes while still staying present and making sure your voice is heard.

[12:30 p.m.] Capture Mouthwatering Photos of Your Lunch

Lunch break is an employee’s time to recharge, so enjoy your break by ditching your desk and visiting well-known restaurants and coffee shops. Thanks to the enhanced camera AI technology of the Galaxy S22 series, you can capture every moment during your off time more clearly. Using just your S22 device, you can snap pictures that will leave all your friends and followers hungry.

[2:00 pm] Pick and Choose What Inspires You With Smart Select

While browsing the internet, one often comes across the perfect piece of content to inspire one’s work. Using the S Pen, you can easily select, clip and grab whatever piques your interest, whether it’s a photo or a quote. The Smart Select feature allows you to draw a shape anywhere on the screen, and your phone will capture only that defined selection. You can save your screenshot as an image or paste it right away on the Samsung Notes application. Whatever the size or shape of the content, you can position it perfectly on a page in your notes, even if it’s already filled with text.

[3:00 p.m.] Work in Any Lighting With Screens That Adjust to You

Whether you’re working indoors or outdoors, you can make sure your screen is always easy to read with the Galaxy S22 series’ Adaptive Brightness feature. As soon as your device turns on, your screen automatically adjusts to match the lighting of a room. You can enjoy a clear, bright screen anywhere with no need for adjustment, no matter if you’re reading documents in a dimly lit conference room or checking your email in direct sunlight.

[5:30 p.m.] Turn Your Smartphone Into a Pocket Scanner for Easy Sharing

When we receive urgent requests for documents, it’s often easier to snap a picture instead of going through the hassle of using a scanner. But when you’re trying to take that perfect shot of the paper on your desk, it can be tricky to avoid casting a shadow on the document, no matter how you position your smartphone. The Object eraser in the Galaxy S22 series is there to help you out.

The Object eraser not only erases objects in the background, but it can also erase the shadow cast on the subject. Without using a separate editing program, the AI automatically analyzes the photo to detect and remove unnecessary items. Even an unwanted glare or reflection can be edited out with just a tap of the Erase reflections button.

[7:00 pm] Capture Picture-Perfect Photos on Your Way Home With Nightography

Your car just got a high-tech upgrade. Today, Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Group announced that the GV60 Genesis electric vehicle will be the first to support ultra-wideband (UWB) digital keys available on Galaxy devices.1 Seven of the latest Samsung Galaxy smartphones will support a digital key powered by UWB technology. So forget fishing around for your keys in messy bags or deep pockets — now, you can unlock your car with your smartphone simply by walking up to it, and lock it back up again by just touching the door sensor. Let’s take a closer look at how this incredible new technology transforms your smartphone into a digital key that makes life easier.

The Future of Smart Car Keys With UWB

UWB is a wireless technology that allows your smartphone to connect and communicate directly with your car. Once a digital key is registered, the GV60 can identify authorized Galaxy devices and unlock the doors as they approach.

Travel Light With Digital Key on Samsung Pass

Digital key is available through Samsung Pass, a system for storing digital signatures, IDs and passwords. Later this year, we are excited to expand this service to Samsung Wallet, which will also allow users to securely store and manage digital IDs, boarding passes, vouchers and credit cards on their phone.2 It helps you keep everything you need to get through the day in one, safe, practical and convenient place.

To use a digital key on your smartphone:

Install and open up the Genesis Connected Service app in the car.

Select “Vehicle” menu on the infotainment system.

Select the “Digital Key” menu on the screen, and “Register” on your Genesis Connected app.

That’s it! Samsung Pass should start automatically registering the key in both apps.

Now, you can leave your car keys at home.

Unlock New Ways of Starting Your Car

Depending on your car’s settings, there are two ways to unlock your car using UWB. You can open your car door by pressing the door handle while your phone is in your bag or pocket, or you can automatically unlock it simply by approaching the car with your smartphone.3 Both ways can be used interchangeably, so you can always choose the option that makes life easier.

Users can also enjoy some helpful features remotely on their phone, like honking the horn or starting the car, before entering the vehicle by pressing the engine button in Samsung Pass.

Share Your Digital Key With Family and Friends

What about when someone needs to borrow your car? You can choose to share your digital key with three of your contacts by selecting them from a list and clicking ‘Send digital key’. This will send a text message that guides them through setting up a digital key on their Galaxy smartphone. Once you share the key, the recipient can start using it immediately by adding it to their Samsung Pass. You can even control how long they have access to the key, and revoke access when needed.

Users can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their digital key is secure, thanks to the high-level security chipset protecting Samsung Pass. The app’s authentication process ensures you always have control over who can borrow your car key, and when.

At Samsung, we believe that all of our users deserve the convenience of a more digital lifestyle. That’s why we continue working to expand our digital key services through innovative collaborations with global car companies. Our goal is to increase the number of smartphone devices that support digital keys powered by UWB technology.

1 Devices supporting the digital key powered by UWB technology: Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold3, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold2, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (7 devices total)

2 Timing and availability of features and services described in this release may vary by market and model and are subject to change.

3 Unlock by approaching is optional.

Whether it’s texting, shopping online or posting on social media, almost everything we do on the smartphone involves the keyboard. While other input features, such as touch or voice input, may not grab the headlines, improvements in the keyboard can greatly enhance our smartphone experiences.

The Galaxy S20 series comes with a Samsung Keyboard that’s designed to simplify and enrich your interactions on the smartphone.1 Check out the article below to find out more.

Brighten Your Stories

Emojis, stickers, and GIFs are the lifeblood of chats and interactions on the smartphone. Samsung Keyboard’s Emoji and sticker suggestions features help you find the right icons automatically based on the context of your conversations.2, 3 For example, if you type the word “love,” the keyboard will show the heart emoji in the prediction window. And by pressing the sticker suggestions bubble, the feature will pull up relevant stickers from Bitmoji and mojitok. You can then simply tap the emoji or sticker to insert it into your message.

To enable Emoji and sticker suggestions, enter “Smart typing” in settings and toggle the buttons next to the “Suggest emojis” and “Suggest stickers while typing” options. You can choose your sticker sources by entering the “Suggest stickers while typing” menu.

The S20’s keyboard also lets you search for GIFs and stickers. All you need to do is type a keyword into the search bar and it will show you images that can bring your stories to life. Tap the Expand Toolbar icon, click “Search” and type in your keywords. The feature will then pull up different categories of search results.

In addition, you can even search for contacts, images in your gallery, and content on Netflix and Spotify to share with your friends right in the keyboard without switching between apps.4 You can access these search functions by tapping on the related icons in the Keyboard Toolbar.

Forgot Your Password? No Worries!

Samsung Keyboard makes online shopping and website logins quick, easy, and secure.5 It’s integrated with Samsung Pass, which means you can safely store your bank details, passwords and other personal information in the keyboard. When you want to make a payment online or log into a website, simply tap the Expand Toolbar icon and select “Samsung Pass”. After scanning your fingerprint, the feature will pull up your bank account information and other personal details. Tap on the information you need and it will automatically appear in the “Enter message” box.

Your Personal Word Wizard

We’ve all been there: just as you are about to send a work email on your phone, you accidentally delete a whole paragraph. Without Ctrl+Z on your smartphone keyboard, all you can do is rewrite the paragraph again.

Fixing mistakes on the Samsung Keyboard is easy. Just swipe left or right on the keyboard with two fingers and it will undo or redo your changes.

The Samsung Keyboard also brings the translator right to your fingertips for when you are typing. The feature is powered by Google, and it lets you translate and switch between languages right in the app you are using.6

To access the translation feature, tap the “Translate” icon in the expanded toolbar. Select a target language afterwards and enter the original text in the text box. The translated text will then appear in the “Enter message” box.

Make It Your Own7

We all have different preferences when it comes to smartphone usage. That’s why Samsung Keyboard comes with different customization options, so you can make it truly your own.

If you have big thumbs, try enlarging the keys to make typing easier. You can resize the keys by tapping the “Keyboard size” icon in the expanded toolbar.

You can also reorder the toolbar by long-pressing and dragging icons to make frequently used features instantly accessible.

1 Samsung Keyboard features included in this article are also available on the Galaxy Z Flip and any Galaxy device with One UI 2.1 or above.

2 Emoji suggestions feature supports the following languages: English, Korean, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian, German, and Portuguese.

In a digital world that was once only protected by PIN numbers, consumers now have more choices than ever to protect the security of their devices and personal data thanks to advances in biometric technologies. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ provide strengthened security features and enhanced convenience through a combination of biometrics, including innovative iris scanning technology, familiar fingerprint scanning and new facial recognition capabilities. Secured by Samsung’s trusted Knox security platform, the Galaxy S8 gives users the peace of mind that comes from knowing their biometric information is protected.

Face-to-Face with Mobile Security

Samsung’s new facial recognition technology has been added to the Galaxy S8 to enable users to unlock their smartphone quickly and conveniently by simply looking at the front of the device. The technology works by utilizing an immense amount of data to recognize patterns, such as small differences in facial features.

When a user opts to access their Galaxy S8 using facial recognition verification, the smartphone detects, aligns, extracts and compares facial landmark points such as the width of the user’s nose or the distance between their eyes to stored data to grant or deny access. As the user continues to utilize the feature more and more, the phone gets better at recognizing them, despite small changes in the angle or position of their face during the verification process.

With this new feature, users can enjoy a more convenient mobile experience and also rest assured knowing that their data is encrypted in the TrustZone protected by Knox.

For Your Eyes Only

Yet another biometric feature that has been added to the Galaxy S8 is iris scanning, a method of biometric identification that uses mathematical pattern recognition of images of an individual’s iris, either from one or both eyes. To obtain these images, an authentication device scans the iris—the thin, colored ring of the eye that regulates the amount of light that reaches the retina.

Each individual has a uniquely different and highly intricate iris pattern in each eye, which is fully developed at a very young age and remains unchanged throughout one’s lifetime. This, combined with the fact that iris patterns are almost impossible to replicate makes iris scanning one of the most secure and reliable biometric techniques available.

To enable iris scanning, the Galaxy S8 was equipped with a dedicated iris camera, which utilizes a special image filter to receive and recognize the reflected images of the irises with a red infrared (IR) LED light. This red light allows for the best range for iris scanning. Furthermore, unlike traditional visible (or RGB) images, which can be affected by iris color or ambient light, infrared images display clear patterns and have low light reflection. Samsung’s proprietary technology also makes use of the light emitted from the Galaxy S8’s display so the scanner can receive data even in low light environments.

Once a user registers his or her iris information on the Galaxy S8, it is stored as an encrypted code. When a user attempts to access content, such as a protected app, the IR LED and iris camera work together to capture the iris pattern for recognition, and to extract and digitize the pattern, and compares the digitized pattern with the encrypted code to verify identification.

Just like fingerprint and facial biometric data, the user’s iris data is also encrypted and stored safely in the hardware protected by the Knox platform. Furthermore, only one person can register his or her iris information, which means that even if the device is stolen or lost and someone else is able to gain access to the smartphone, the user’s information won’t be compromised.

Compared to conventional devices that employ iris scanning, the Galaxy S8 offers a better user experience. The iris preview screen, for example, is displayed in full color, while 17 preloaded iris masks add a bit of fun to the verification process. Furthermore, Galaxy S8 users don’t even need to touch their phone to verify their identity since the iris verification process is initiated immediately once the user turns on the display.

Added Services for Enhanced Convenience

Leveraging Samsung’s new and enhanced biometrics technology, the Galaxy S8 offers various services to provide an additional layer of security.

The first is Secure Folder, an encrypted folder that lets users manage private apps and files securely via PIN, pattern, passcode or biometric verification. Users may utilize this service to keep private and personal data, such as banking information, sandboxed separately on their smartphone for additional security and privacy.

Another added security feature, Samsung Pass, enables users to quickly and easily log into mobile banking apps and websites on the Samsung Internet Browser using biometric authentication. Because users don’t have to spend time repeatedly inputting usernames and passwords, Samsung Pass adds an element of convenience to the Galaxy S8.
The Samsung Knox booth at IFA 2016 showcases the numerous ways Samsung’s security platform can enhance enterprise efficiency and leverage business capabilities. But rather than simply telling guests about the usability and top grade security offered by the platform, Samsung is showcasing its security solutions in a fun, interactive way. The highlight of the booth is a hands-on experience zone that aims to inform guests about how major Knox solutions can be utilized in the hospitality industry.

Upon entering the booth, guests first verify that they’re a valid ticket holder by authenticating their identity via Samsung’s iris scanning technology. Participants are then directed to the Dual Personal Experience Zone, where they can encounter first-hand Knox Workspace, Samsung’s widely used enterprise work container. Here, guests take two pictures—one in personal mode, which can be viewed immediately, the other in enterprise mode, which requires iris authentication to view.

Next, at the Kiosk Tablet Solution, guests can select which photo they would like to have printed. While they wait, they can check out Knox Customization, a solution that lets a device be customized based on the specific services a business wants to offer its customers. Finally, at the Samsung Pay zone, participants “pay” for their photo securely, conveniently and without a wallet.

The Knox Booth also features Samsung’s latest government solutions, including a hands-on demonstration of its Pronto law enforcement solution. Pronto acts as a complete replacement for paper forms like speeding tickets and criminal records, moving major tasks to the digital realm. It also enables police officers to search databases, check warrants and access records effortlessly. Pronto is already being operated in the UK to boost workplace productivity.

Other government solutions on display include Galaxy Tab Iris and the Galaxy Note7, which integrate iris scanning technology, and SecuTABLET, which provides the ultimate in secure mobile communication via the Secure App Container solution.

Samsung is also highlighting new Samsung Pass service, an ‘identity management as-a-service’ which enables 3rd party service providers to provide users with convenient, secure access to their services through biometric authentication. Also on display is Samsung Mobile Voice Recording, a compliant recording solution for regulated industries that uses Knox to protect business-related communications.

The iris scanner of the Galaxy Note7 provides the ultimate level of privacy and security by offering secure biometric authentication integrated with Samsung’s trusted Knox platform. With the device’s iris or fingerprint scanner, the new Samsung Pass can act as a master key for mobile banking services or website login on Samsung Internet, the default browser for Galaxy devices. In this way, Samsung Pass lets users enjoy a highly optimized browsing experience without having to type in an ID or password—or even touch their phone.

No IDs. No Passwords. Just You.

These days, people do just about everything online. From paying bills to shopping for birthday gifts, consumers rely on the Internet to carry out the simplest of everyday tasks. But remembering passwords for each different account can be a major headache, not to mention extremely time consuming.

Furthermore, rising identity theft has forced companies to apply stricter ID and password requirements. These specifications differ from company to company, adding even more frustration to the equation.

To mitigate this growing inconvenience, Samsung provided Galaxy device users the Web Sign-in option on Samsung Internet 4.0. Previously, this feature protected a user’s identity with fingerprint authentication when logging in to websites. But now, with Samsung Pass and the new Samsung Internet 4.2, which is available on the Galaxy Note7, navigating password-protected websites launched on Samsung Internet is even easier and safer.

The new iris recognition feature is a convenient way to accurately authenticate a user’s identity. With a simple glance, a user can safely access their email account or log in to a travel website to book a flight.

While Samsung Pass makes it easy to quickly enable auto login for websites and apps, it will also allow users to use financial, medical and healthcare services—ones that require additional security—with biometric authentication. For instance, iris recognition provides an added layer of security for sensitive banking transactions, such as high-value money transfers.

In fact, many banks and financial institutions recognize the added security that iris scanning technology provides. Which is why several leading banks have teamed up with Samsung to begin integrating the Galaxy Note7’s iris scanner and Samsung Pass into the mobile banking experience.

But that’s just the beginning. Samsung Pass could eventually replace IDs and passwords altogether for third-party services like mobile games and social media channels. It might even one day replace physical keys, like those we use to get inside our homes or start our car engines. And, as we continue to become more connected, Samsung Pass could even let us activate Internet of Things (IoT) devices with a simple iris scan.

Safe, Secure and Speedy Sign In

Getting started with Samsung Pass is easy. A user must first sign up for Samsung Pass by registering his or her biometric information, which is then coded, encrypted and stored securely under the protection of Knox. Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) Protocol also provides the key to this encrypted information, hence, enabling online biometric authentication.

As a result, users no longer have to save or manage their IDs and passwords for their most frequently used websites or apps from the Settings menu.

Along with the launch of the Galaxy Note7, Samsung Pass for Web Sign-in on Samsung Internet and mobile banking services will be available from August 19 in Korea and will gradually be expanded worldwide.
