Also, the latest SolarCell Remote is now completely battery-free and can now be charged through 2.4GHz radio frequency harvesting — drawing power from spare energy emitted by Wi-Fi routers. It is 88% more efficient than the previous 2020 models.

Furthermore, Samsung’s Neo QLED 8Ks have received carbon footprint certifications from the Carbon Trust in recognition of the company’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the product’s entire life cycle.

Since 2014, Samsung has been focusing on accessibility by placing utmost priority on ensuring easier and more seamless accessibility to screens for everyone. The Ambient screen is designed to display a variety of content, including world-renowned works of art, as wallpapers when users are not watching the TV, contributing to their interior design aesthetic. Also, Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED 8K’s Real Depth Enhancer maximizes depth and vividness by improving picture quality and sharpness, making scenes more real.

Samsung’s signature Infinity One Design provides a slimmer and sleeker look, making the TV appear as if it is floating above the ground. The 2022 Samsung Neo QLED 8K is also built with a 90W 6.2.4 channel audio system with Dolby Atmos support featuring Object Tracking Sound Pro (OTS Pro).⁴ The slim screen is the perfect match for its new Ultra Slim Soundbar, which supports a Wireless Dolby Atmos system. Furthermore, the soundbar’s subwoofer with 3.1.2 channels and a passive radiator provides the perfect audio performances.

At Unbox & Discover 2022, Samsung introduced new accessories to offer optimized screen experiences tailored to each user’s changing lifestyles and trend preferences. The new Slim Fit Wall Mount makes the ultra-thin Neo QLED 8K stand out with a wall-to-wall distance of 7.5mm. Furthermore, the latest Full Motion Slim Wall Mount, almost 50% slimmer than its predecessor, sits just 19.5mm from the wall to complement the sleek style of the screen. It can be also tilted up, down, left and right to create the ideal angle for the best viewing experience regardless of the location of the viewers. In addition, by using Auto Rotating accessory, the screen is able to switch to portrait mode upon using the remote control to enable users to easily enjoy vertical mobile-style content.

When putting the screen in the middle of the room or placing it without the media console, the Studio Stand ensures a sleek, trendy look. Users can display artworks, photos or NFT artworks in a landscape or portrait orientation even when the TV is turned off so that their TV can also serve as a singular piece of art. The latest three-way MultiView also allows users to display various content such as live broadcasts, YouTube or online reviews, all at once.

Samsung’s 2022 portfolio was developed from the vision of ‘Screens Everywhere, Screens for All,’ with TVs at the center of users’ home and daily lives. In line with this vision, Samsung created devices that seamlessly connect to provide deep personalization and connectivity ensuring there is a screen fit for every occasion and lifestyle. Historically, TVs and screens have been mainly associated with the act of “watching,” but Neo QLED 8K aims to change this by expanding the user experience.

Neo QLED 8K: The Best Gets Better

The 2022 Neo QLED 8K has been upgraded to bring the large screen experience to another level. At the heart is the Neural Quantum Processor 8K. The latest processor has 20 independent neural AI networks, each analyzing the content’s characteristics and picture quality for optimal viewing, regardless of the source.

The Neural Quantum Processor 8K also powers a new technological innovation — Real Depth Enhancer. This scans the screen, and maximizes contrast with the background by enhancing the object while keeping the background unprocessed. It works similarly to the way human eyes perceive images in real life so the object on screen stands out against the background.

In fact, Samsung’s all new 2022 QLED received the world’s first ‘Pantone Validated’ certification in display from Pantone, the global authority on color and creator of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) — meaning the models authentically reproduce more than 2,000 colors as well as the newly added 110 skin tone shades found in Pantone’s guidelines. Additionally, these brilliant colors are comfortable to watch with the new EyeComfort Mode. The feature uses AI technology to automatically adjust the brightness and color temperature of the screen based on how light or dark the room is combined with the sunset/sunrise information to optimize the most comfortable viewing experience.

Immersive Dolby Atmos Sound With Smart Features

For true immersion, TVs and screens need powerful and nuanced sound to match the rich colors and sharp details. The Neural Quantum Processor 8K’s AI analyzes what is on screen in real-time so that the Adaptive Sound features can track and move between speakers to precisely match the movement on screen.

In QN900B, a flagship Neo QLED 8K model, all the sounds come from a 90W 6.2.4 channel audio system, featuring new top channel speakers and Dolby Atmos with Object Tracking Sound Pro. This technology has also been applied to voice recognition with Voice Tracking Sound, so that sound effects and voices truly follow the movement across the screen.

Samsung is also introducing Wireless Dolby Atmos to its Neo QLED 4K and 8K TVs — this means pristine audio quality without the clutter of HDMI cables. Thanks to the Neo Quantum Processor and the advancements in picture technology and sound it delivers, 2022 Neo QLED will provide some of the most pristine images and immersive soundscapes possible. In fact, this year’s Neo Quantum Processor introduces advanced contrast mapping with BLU (back-light unit), increasing the brightness level from 12 to 14-bit gradation for greater control of the light source – the Quantum Mini LEDs. This allows the TV to control its lighting across 16,384 steps, quadrupled from the previous 4,096 steps.

The new Shape Adaptive Light technology leverages the Neo Quantum Processor to analyze lines, shapes and surfaces to control the shape of light from the Quantum Mini LEDs, enhancing the brightness and accuracy of all shapes on the screen. The result is outstanding image quality that puts full HDR content on display. Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED also features Real Depth Enhancer, a multi-intelligence picture quality algorithm. This technological advancement creates a greater sense of realism by determining and processing an object on the screen against its background to create a sense of depth.

Samsung Electronics today announced the global availability of its all-new Smart Monitor, an innovative, do-it-all screen that brings together an unprecedented suite of features for work, learning and entertainment in a single display.

Designed to meet the new needs of today’s consumers, who are now working, learning and consuming entertainment at home, Samsung Smart Monitor incorporates powerful mobile and PC connectivity, remote home office and learning features as well as Smart Hub, a comprehensive entertainment hub, similar to Samsung’s built-in Smart TV platform.

“Around the world, work, education and entertainment have transformed into home-centered activities,” said Hyesung Ha, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With this new normal, it is no surprise that most indicators show a rise in digital activities and many are rethinking their technology use at home. The new Samsung Smart Monitor provides numerous connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones. Users can connect their personal mobile devices with just a simple tap using Tap View,¹ App Casting or Apple AirPlay 2. For a complete desktop experience using a mobile device, users can also connect to the monitor with Samsung DeX.

For home office and learning, the display operates Microsoft Office 365 applications² without a PC connection thanks to embedded Wi-Fi, allowing users to view, edit and save documents in the cloud directly from the monitor. Remote Access also allows users wirelessly and remotely access files from a PC or view content from a laptop whether it is situated elsewhere in the house or at the office. Samsung Electronics today announced it will introduce three new Smart TV services at CES 2017, to be held January 5 through January 9, 2017 in Las Vegas. The new services – including ‘Sports’, ‘Music’ and ‘TV Plus’ – will offer personalized content to consumers based on their TV preferences through Samsung’s Smart Hub platform.

“At Samsung, one of our top priorities is ensuring that we are closely in tune with what consumers want and need from their smart devices and electronics,” said Won Jin Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With that in mind, we continue to innovate our Smart TV offering in order to provide the content experiences that our customers have come to know and expect from Samsung.”

Samsung’s Smart TV ‘Sports’ service will provide sports fans with information on when their favorite teams are playing, where they can watch it as well as scores – all in one navigation page. Instead of having to flip through dozens of channels to find the big game, all details will be curated by the customized ‘Sports’ user interface.

Samsung plans to further expand the range of content offered through the ‘Sports’ service with additional content partners including NBC Sports, UFC and more.

The Samsung ‘Music’ service will allow Smart TV customers to easily search and identify songs on live TV or directly from television programs. ‘Music’ will also make recommendations in the ‘Preview’ section of Smart Hub’s user interface for customers to discover new music and play songs as they please.

The Samsung ‘Music’ service currently offers content from eight music app partners including Spotify, iHeartRadio, Napster, Deezer, Sirius XM, Vevo, Melon and Bugs. The service will be available starting in France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and the U.S.

Lastly, ‘TV Plus’ will offer IP-based channels focused on premium content services through a new Smart Electronic Program Guide (EPG) solution. Samsung customers will no longer have to wait for cable services to offer marathon sessions of their favorite TV shows and can watch immediately just by turning on a TV Plus channel.

Samsung first launched ‘TV Plus’ in South East Asia, is now also available in the U.S., and will be available in Europe in April, 2017. Samsung will partner with Fandango and Rakuten to provide premium T-VOD content in the U.S. and Europe, respectively, and with Funke to A-VOD content in Germany.

Samsung Electronics today announced that its TV PLUS service is now available in Thailand and Vietnam on 2016 Samsung Smart TV UHD Models. All other Smart TV models, including Full HD Smart TVs, will be supported by the end of June. The TV PLUS service enables users to find exciting video clips by simply moving to designated channels, instead of having to toggle between different apps.

As a part of the TV PLUS upgrade, users in Thailand and Vietnam will automatically receive four popular Korean Pop channels of CJ E&M’s ‘Tving TV’ including Awesome Singers (Channel 101/555), KPOP Boy Group Stage (Channel 102/556), KPOP Girl Group Stage (Channel 103/557), and M Countdown (Channel 104/558). Further ahead in 2016, Samsung plans to collaborate with additional global and local content partners to expand the channels and variety offered on the service.

Samsung Electronics today announced that celebrated music video game Just Dance Now is now available globally on 2015 and 2016 Samsung Smart TVs.

Just Dance Now, the mobile version of the most popular music video game franchise in history with more than 118 million players worldwide, is accessible on Samsung’s 2015 and 2016 Smart TV lineups via the Smart Hub, where Smart TV users will be able to connect quickly and easily to the game. Connection through the Smart Hub also enables users to access the game’s subscription service and conveniently pay through Samsung’s Smart TV billing system.

By simply launching the app via the Smart Hub, players can enjoy countless hours of dancing fun on a huge catalogue of hundreds of songs, including top Billboard hits and classic favorites, with friends and family. Being able to access the game in stunning picture quality on a large TV screen, Just Dance Now will offer a new aspect of the ultimate viewing experience.

Located in Mountain View, California, Samsung’s Customer Experience Lab created the new Smart Hub UX, which is designed to make finding and viewing content more convenient than ever. “It was very apparent that the traditional TV model is changing,” said Sophia Sung, Project Lead at the Customer Experience Lab, in the video. “Because we watch a lot of TV ourselves, we experience the same pain points that our users go through every day.” Sung added, “We are crazy about TV”.

Understanding the difficulties people go through with their TV inspired the lab to rethink the whole viewing experience. These days, people are using ever more devices to connect content to their TVs. There is broadcast TV, Video-on-Demand (VOD) services, Over-the-Top (OTT) services, game consoles and more, creating a complicated jumble of wires, remotes, formats and menus.

But the Samsung Smart Hub eliminates all of that, unifying all of people’s devices into one easy-to-use interface right on the TV screen, operated through a single remote control.

Samsung Smart Control Remote: A Single Control For Your TV-Connected Devices

The Samsung Smart Control remote serves as a single control unit for nearly all devices connected to a Samsung Smart TV, eliminating the need for multiple remote controls. For a TV with more than three external devices connected, on average, the Smart Control remote will consolidate multiple remote controls into one, seamless device. Built upon the Tizen platform, the new Smart Control remote provides quicker and more streamlined access to entertainment, thanks to its automatic source recognition. The Smart Control remote will immediately recognize set-top-boxes, OTT boxes, Blu-ray players, game consoles as well as other connected devices. This provides consumers the one tool they need to control their entire home entertainment system.

Samsung Customer Experience Lab: In Search of What Users Really Want
