Here is a simple and fresh equation for you.

Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) + Galaxy S4 = Galaxy Gear compatibility.

It is coming soon, well it actually already happened in some countries, such as Germany and South Korea. The good news is that, soon enough, Galaxy gear will be compatible with Galaxy S4, SIII and Note II in many more countries through Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) as well. And beginning at the end of October, more Galaxy devices – including Galaxy S4 mini, S4 active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3 and S4 Zoom – will be compatible with Galaxy Gear, through a separate software. (Update schedules for each device will vary by country and carrier.)

So how do we apply this magical equation in real life? You know Samsung Tomorrow’s got your back. We got this freshly squeezed video to walk you through the rather simple two-step process of pairing your Galaxy Gear to your Galaxy S4. Let’s do the two-step.

Step 1.

Make sure that the Bluetooth and NFC features are activated on your device.

Step 2.

Then, tag the charging cradle to the back of your device. Once you have the Gear Manager app open, it automatically starts pairing; the device recognizes the NFC chip in the charging cradle.

For this simple process, you ‘do’ need the app, Galaxy Gear Manager app. I’m sure you can figure it out, but we are friendly. Here is how you get the app.

How to download the Galaxy Gear manager app 1

Just go to ‘Samsung Apps’, press the ‘search’ icon (yes, the magnifying glass).

Now, feel free to go out to the street and make a fashion statement with your Galaxy Gear. Flashy!
