There’s an Eco Hero in each and every one of us and it starts with little changes in our lifestyle. With the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, you are making a choice to be sustainable do your bit in saving the planet.

Bye-bye ocean-bound plastic

The 3Rs are good habits to live by and it minimises our footprint on the environment. Besides reducing, reusing and recycling, we can take other proactive steps in practising this, like purchasing goods made from recycled items. Samsung incorporates eco-conscious innovation into its Galaxy devices.

The Galaxy Buds2 Pro is designed with more than 90% of its plastic components made from discarded fishing nets (ocean-bound plastic) and water barrels[1]. Recycled fishing nets are used in three internal components of the cradle case in its bracket deco front, bracket battery holder and bracket-PCB. Meanwhile, recycled water barrels are used in eight exterior components, in the case’s front left and right, rear left and right, in the cradle case in its deco front, case-upper, case-upper inner and case-lower.

No small feat, considering it provides the ultimate listening experience, while looking incredibly good, with its ergonomic design, matte finish, and three eye-catching colours, Bora Purple, Graphite, and White.

By repurposing discarded fishing nets into a high-performance material for Galaxy technology, Samsung helps to minimise the effects of plastic pollution – 640,000 tons of fishing nets are abandoned and pollute the world’s oceans every year[2].

Minimising single-use plastic

As part of its Galaxy for the Planet commitment, Samsung has set a goal to eliminate all single-use plastics in its product packaging by 2025. The company has already reduced a sizeable amount in current packaging for its flagship and foldables, as well as the Galaxy Buds2 Pro. The packaging box of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro is made with recycled material. By reducing each device package’s volume, not only will this save the trees, it ultimately reduces its environmental footprint in transporting products using trucks, planes and ships.
