Samsung Smart School initiative presents a world of possibilities for all children by boosting interactive STEM education

Kuala Lumpur, 19 February 2018 – Technology is swiftly advancing each day and continues to play a fundamental role in shaping the society. At its core, technology exists to inspire and assist, especially in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for youngsters. The Smart School initiative by Samsung seeks to inspire more students across Southeast Asia to Do What They Can’t, by showing how they can overcome obstacles associated with STEM learning.

Established in 2013, Samsung Smart School delivers broad and interactive learning experiences using Samsung’s educational tablets and apps that can help students refine their interest and talents in STEM. Since its initiation, the ultimate goal of Samsung Smart School is to help bridge the digital skills gap in underserved areas in many parts of the world and help students in these communities thrive in the challenging future where technology leads.

In light of this, Samsung introduced its ‘Little Pilot’ video that highlights the journey of a young, eager girl who hopes to one day achieve her impossible dream. The story emphasises how Samsung Smart School can help enhance every child’s education experience and inspire them to dream bigger. Samsung is showing its strong support by advocating every child’s right to dream and learn STEM the fun and engaging way. Eventually, Samsung Smart School students will be able to grasp useful knowledge and develop essential skills that can help them achieve their dreams and ambitions.

“At the heart of Samsung Smart School, there is a vision to encourage children to achieve dreams that are deemed impossible for most. We have many potential talents waiting to be discovered and Samsung aims to provide a motivating learning environment for all children. Currently, the Samsung Smart School initiative has supported more than 1 million students around the world, giving children the independence to express their imagination and comprehend STEM better through digital learning. We believe that through the power of technology, STEM education would be more enjoyable and easy to follow, therefore encouraging students to think out of the box and Do What They Can’t,” said Elaine Soh, Chief Marketing Officer of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

With the world moving towards the digitalisation era, many sectors require STEM experts and professionals. Through Samsung Smart School, every child will have equal opportunities and the freedom to expand their creativity and problem-solving skills. They will also enjoy full benefits of excellent digital learning. Samsung Smart School can help unlock every child’s biggest potential in becoming the game-changers of tomorrow, echoing the promise of a better world.
