Part one of this series — a discussion with EVP Moohyung Lee — covered how the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ is a one-of-a-kind product that leads to a new laundry experience. On top of this, it estimates the electricity bill based on past behaviors. If a user sets a monthly target, and when the estimation seems to exceed the preset target, AI Energy mode kicks in. Or users can also decide to activate AI Energy Mode always.

For this device, AI Energy Mode primarily focuses on reducing heater usage since heating water requires a significant amount of energy. It maintains impressive washing performance by utilizing Ecobubble™ technology while increasing cycle time. This smart feature enables the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ to save up to 60% on washing and up to 30% on drying.[2]

Voice Control: Bixby at Your Command

Samsung has enhanced voice control capabilities across its Bespoke AI appliances, providing a more convenient home experience.

Using commands of just a few words, users can easily get help from Bixby to have tasks carried out.[3] This offers a more streamlined and personalized experience that makes it easier to manage daily tasks, especially during busy times like the morning school rush. For example, if a parent is unsure whether their child has turned off the air conditioner in the living room, while being occupied in the laundry room, they can easily check the status of the device by asking the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™. And if it’s not turned off, they can then simply ask for that to be done. Plus, if their hands are full due to a large load of laundry, they can even ask Bixby to open the door. These broad capabilities have a meaningful influence on users’ lifestyles, helping lower the stress of daily life.

Security at Its Core

In an editorial earlier this year, JH Han, CEO and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung, wrote, “AI technology is brimming with potential, but even the best AI will not be worthwhile if it fails to protect users — in fact, it could be dangerous. And this is why security stands at the core of Bespoke AI appliances.” This sentiment was backed up by the study that 42% of respondents across 17 countries identified “better security” as a critical feature for AI-enabled devices.
