Premier Australian University Reveals Ultra Modern Support Centre In Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 November 2016: Federation University Australia (FedUni) founded in Ballarat, Victoria has carved a new milestone since its inception in 1870, with the opening of a newly equipped state of the art Support Centre at Annex, Menara Liberty in Kuala Lumpur.

The purpose of the Support Centre is basically to offer the kind of guidance, mentoring and associated support to students, alumni and partner institutions offering FedUni programs, across Asia and Africa, which would otherwise be only available in Australia. “The setting up of the FedUni Malaysia Support Centre is vital to provide the new generation of FedUni students the ability to gain accredited and credible degrees through its partners, nearer to home. It is our hope that students from this region and as far as Africa can benefit from FedUni’s award winning programs here in Kuala Lumpur,” said Dr Paul Hemming, Chancellor of Federation University Australia in his welcoming speech.

For eight years running, FedUni has been voted Australia’s number one university for teaching quality by Australia’s Good Universities Guide – the most trusted source on higher education for over 20 years, providing well informed choices for students.

In 2017, the Support Centre plans to further expand its range of services by establishing its own Teaching Site for courses such as early childhood education, business management, information technology, engineering and healthcare. “With bachelor and master’s degrees available across a broad range of study areas, this Teaching Site would provide experienced staff, cutting-edge technology and international curriculum to enhance your career while studying an Australian degree,” added Hemming.

The Teaching Site in Kuala Lumpur would be further enhanced with its futuristic technology support in education where students can embrace their learning experience in the most advanced surroundings. This will be possible with a smart partnership association with global technology leader, Samsung.

“Samsung is always seeking for partnerships to inspire and enrich people’s lives with our innovative technologies, products and designs. Today, marks a significant milestone for Samsung to collaborate with FedUni in Malaysia as we can provide our expertise in innovation for students to enhance their learning experience,” said Danny Tang, Director of Enterprise Business, Samsung Malaysia.

To further distribute the Support Centre’s capability of seamless communication, another corporate partner is being negotiated to provide wireless communication for advanced learning where students from all over the world can benefit from lectures presented in Malaysia.

This is in-line with the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education’s aspiration of making Malaysia a regional hub for Massive Online Open Courses (MOOC). This breakthrough learning process is FedUni’s way to bring the learning experience to the new era of digital advancement.
