Samsung Launches New Bespoke AI Washer Dryer That Cuts Energy Use While Delivering Smarter Fabric Care

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. recently announced the launch of its new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer,[1] a two-in-one laundry appliance that delivers Class A energy[2] efficiency through AI Ecobubble™ technology and intelligent fabric care. Featuring Air Wash and AI Wash cycles — along with SmartThings connectivity — the new appliance provides users with a more convenient and personalized laundry experience.

“Consumers increasingly expect laundry appliances to do more than just clean well — they want technology that helps reduce energy consumption without adding complexity to daily life,” said Hyoung Min Park, VP and Head of the Customer Experience Team for the Digital Appliances (DA) Business, Samsung Electronics. “With the new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer, Samsung is taking the next step in providing users with appliances that redefine home living.”

Enhanced Energy Efficiency

The new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer meets top-tier energy efficiency ratings in applicable labeling systems in markets where it is available, with select models in European markets exceeding Class A minimum energy efficiency requirements by up to 35 percent.[3] The new washer-dryer leverages a combination of advanced technologies, including AI Ecobubble™,[4] a circulation pump and optimized algorithms. Together, these innovations help reduce energy consumption without compromising cleaning performance.

In particular, AI Ecobubble™ transforms detergent into bubbles that more quickly penetrate fabrics. The technology improves soil removal by up to 20 percent[5] while enabling effective washing at lower temperatures.

Additionally, through AI Energy Mode[6] in SmartThings Energy,[7] users can monitor energy consumption and estimated electricity costs. When compatible cycles are selected, the feature can reduce energy use by up to 70 percent[8] by washing at lower temperatures and adjusting cycle time as needed.

Smarter Fabric Care for Every Load

The new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer provides specific cycles that help users to care for their laundry in smarter ways.

First, the Air Wash[9] cycle refreshes garments and bedding without water or detergent. Once the cycle is selected, it blows super-hot air onto the laundry to freshen fabrics. Through this function, Air Wash offers a convenient way to care for items that do not require a full wash cycle, helping maintain fabric quality over time.

Second, the AI Wash cycle works to make fabric care easier.[10] AI Wash automatically senses the weight, softness and soil level of each load, then intelligently dispenses the appropriate amount of water and detergent. It continuously adjusts soak, rinse and spin times to optimize washing performance for thorough yet gentle results. At the same time, the Flex Auto Dispense System automatically dispenses the appropriate amount of detergent and softener for every wash.[11]

Connected Experiences Through SmartThings

Available on select models,[12] AI Control helps simplify laundry management through a more personalized experience. By learning user habits, including frequently used cycles and settings, the system can suggest cycles based on machine learning as well as periodic, weather and seasonal needs.[13] Through the SmartThings app, users can also access cycle recommendations, laundry planning features and troubleshooting support.

SmartThings supports Quick Remote[14] on compatible Galaxy smartphones, as well.[15] When users approach the appliance,[16] a Quick Remote interface can automatically appear on the phone,[17] providing convenient access to key controls such as power and start/stop[18] functions. This enables users to manage laundry more conveniently without needing to locate a separate control interface or open the SmartThings app.

Availability

The Bespoke AI Washer Dryer is available in capacities ranging from 8 kg to 11 kg. Starting with select markets, the product will be rolled out globally in a phased manner across additional regions. Availability, specifications, and features may vary by region and market[19].
