Samsung Pay Now at PETRONAS Stations

PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) today announced the introduction of mobile payment using Samsung Pay, making it the first oil company in Malaysia to accept contactless payment in over 1,000 stations nationwide. The initiative is part of PDB’s commitment to enhance customer experience by providing speed and ease of transactions at the stations.

 

Samsung Pay, a new and secure payment method, only requires users to flash the phone at the payment system, thus allowing customers to go cashless and even cardless. The service is currently available for select models including Galaxy S6 edge+, S7 edge, S8 & S8+, Note 5, A5 (2016 & 2017), A7 (2016, 2017) and A9 Pro.

 

Speaking about the initiative, PDB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus said, “We are very excited to announce the introduction of Samsung Pay at our stations and we are confident that our customers will enjoy this new convenience and experience. Customers’ convenience is our utmost priority and the partnership with Samsung has definitely allowed us to widen our offerings for our customers.”

To encourage customers to switch to Samsung Pay, PDB and Samsung will be rolling out a digital campaign between 10 July and 3 September 2017. To participate, all Samsung users have to do is come up with a creative caption for photos which will be posted on PETRONASBrand’s Instagram and share it with their friends and contacts during the campaign period.

 

Weekly prizes will be given out throughout the 8-week campaign period. Grand prize winners will walk away with one unit of Samsung Galaxy S8 and a PETRONAS Gift Card worth RM150, while second prize winners will win one unit of Samsung Galaxy A7 alongside a PETRONAS Gift Card worth RM100. Meanwhile, five weekly third prize winners will be presented with a Samsung Battery Pack each and five consolation winners will take home a PETRONAS Gift Card each worth RM 50.
