[Video] Highlights from the Design to Win Workshop
Last week, Samsung Malaysia Electronics and Universiti Malaya hosted the Design to Win Workshop with the 10 semi-finalists teams for the Solve For Tomorrow 2021 competition. The workshop featured speakers from Samsung and Universiti Malaya as well as a surprise guest appearance by influencer, Imran Aqil who shared his experience of studying a STEM subject.
The semi-finalists heard from the Head of UM STEM Centre, Ir. Dr. Mas Sahidayana Mokhtar on what criteria the judges were looking for. In addition, Associate Professor Dr. Rose Amnah Binti Abd. Rauf, from the Department of Mathematics & Science Education, Faculty of Education Universiti Malaya, and Dr. Adi Ainurzaman Bin Jamaludin from the Institute of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya, shared their insights on the two themes for the competition: Access to Education and Environmental Sustainability.
The semi-finalists also got to meet their mentors who are made up of employees from Samsung Malaysia Electronics and students from Universiti Malaya, who will guide them on their presentation and assist them with any questions or concerns they have on the competition.
