Confirmed: Samsung’s foldables are stronger than we think

By now, everyone has heard of the hype around foldable phones. Although popular, a common misconception we’ve had over the past few years is that foldable phones aren’t the most durable smartphones in the market. 

This has been a challenge for most brands, and manufacturers have been working year after year to build improvements. Despite the mixed reviews, one brand has stood out and has championed the durability of their foldable phones.

Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 5G, which took durability to the next level; introducing the groundbreaking first-ever water-resistant foldable phones in Galaxy with an IPX8 rating. Enhanced durability has also been prioritized in the overall build quality of the phones, as the last release of Samsung’s foldables are equipped with Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus enhancing the durability of the phones. On top of this, the foldables are equipped with Ultra Thin Glass and PET protection film to make its display more durable.

The Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 5G were made stronger with Armor Aluminum protecting the phones’ frames and hinges. As this material is significantly more durable and stronger as compared to previous foldable releases. According to a test by Android Authority, the Samsung device can reach over 200,000 folds and unfolds prior to any serious damage, a testament to how durable the phones actually are.

The Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the back and front have made the phones much more resistant to scratches and damage. In addition, its Super Clear Glass has been placed over its rear cameras to make the lens scratch-resistant and anti-reflective.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 5G are Samsung’s most durable phones to date. For anyone still worried about the durability of the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 5G, it’s safe to say it is a lot stronger than what you might expect.
