Established in 1987, the IPRS PRISM Awards is one of the industry’s most established and prestigious awards. The Awards are presented to organisations in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the practice of PR and communications, and the Outstanding Overall Corporate Reputation Programme award recognises the Solve for Tomorrow 2020 initiative’s effectiveness in enhancing Samsung’s overall reputation and image amongst its stakeholders.

Supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) under National Infocomm Competition (NIC), Samsung Singapore launched the Solve for Tomorrow 2020 competition – an authentic, local campaign that focused on creating a lasting impact through youth empowerment and innovation – in early 2020 to bring the company’s global CSR vision to life. The competition was designed to encourage innovative thinking, creative problem-solving and teamwork among the next generation of leaders while enabling young minds to pioneer positive social change through technology and innovation. The six-month campaign engaged a total of 640 students from 25 tertiary institutions and received more than 200 ideas spanning four themes – environmental sustainability, health and well-being, active ageing, and inclusive, harmonious society.

The top team from each category walked away with $10,000 worth of Samsung products, internship opportunities with Samsung, $6,000 cash prize and a study trip.

Solve for Tomorrow aims to encourage our youth to take a more proactive approach in addressing Singapore’s key challenges by providing them with a platform to ideate and apply their knowledge and skills across multiple disciplines, including Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) to make a meaningful impact in our community. Solve for Tomorrow reflects Samsung’s investment in youth and its commitment to inspiring and developing the capabilities of the next generation of leaders so that they can fulfil their potential.
