Samsung Celebrates European Launch of Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ at Immersive Event in Berlin

Attendees explored the experiential studio which brought to life the key features of the space efficient, AI-enabled combined washer and dryer

LONDON, U.K. – 19 November 2024 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today showcased the new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ at an immersive experiential event in Berlin, Germany, demonstrating the possibilities of this evolutionary all-in-one washer and dryer combo with AI technology.

To celebrate the product’s launch across Europe attendees experienced engaging and interactive demonstrations, to see first-hand how the single, space-efficient AI appliance reimagines everyday laundry routines by saving space, time and effort.

Elevating the Laundry Experience at Home with AI

The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ is the latest advanced all-in-one washer and dryer that combines the power of two appliances, while also saving space in the home. It streamlines the laundry process by eliminating the need to transfer clothes between machines or drying racks, saving users valuable time.

Equipped with a range of AI features which bring a new level of convenience to users laundry routines, the Combo intelligently adjusts the washing and drying performance for smaller loads. The AI Wash & Dry^[1] function dispenses the appropriate amount of water and detergent for loads of up to 3kg of laundry, reducing unnecessary over-dosage based on load size, fabric type and soil level. It then adjusts the drying process to suit the weight and fabric type of users’ laundry.^[2]

Its 7-inch LCD display, powered by AI Home, acts as a central hub, providing cycle information, detergent levels, and energy usage. It also learns user preferences to suggest cycles and delivers post-cycle energy and water consumption reports via the display or SmartThings App^[3]. Additionally, users can enjoy entertainment services including internet browsing, smart view for mirroring your Samsung mobile or TV, music streaming and even advanced voice control thanks to embedded Bixby.

Bespoke AI Laundry Combo can save space by combining a washing machine and dryer into one

Save Space: The first room focusses on the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™’s ability to save space, with the studio set initially highlighting the limitations of a tightly packed utility room struggling to fit both a washer and a dryer. In a flash, the room is transformed to show how home living spaces can be maximised by replacing the two separate units with the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™.

Save Time: The next room showcased the double timesaving power of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ in action. The Super Speed cycle gets laundry done faster by washing^[4] and drying^[5] daily loads of up to 3kg within just 98 minutes^[6].

Massive Capacity: Second, to emphasise the timesaving benefits of the 18kg large capacity drum, where users effectively double the amount of clothes that can be washed in one go^[7], 18kg loads of clothes were displayed on clothes racks throughout the space. These magically disappeared with the seamless installation of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™. The room turned from a cluttered, clothes-filled mess into a place for entertainment and stylish living.

Smart Technology: The third and final room brought to life the AI and smart technology features of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™ and the intuitive sensing capabilities of AI Wash & Dry. AI Wash & Dry optimises both washing and drying for each unique load, freeing users from pain points like having to determine the optimal settings for each cycle or how much detergent and rinse is needed. Designed to mirror the inside of the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo’s™ spacious drum, the room engaged attendees in interactive stations spotlighting the machine’s innovative sensing capabilities – detecting wash load, fabric type, water, detergent and soil levels. The hands-on experience also highlighted the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo™’s exceptional energy efficiency, whether used as a standalone washer, or using the most of the washer-dryer double action. The Eco 40-60 wash cycle is up to 20% more efficient than the A-grade energy efficiency class threshold for washing machines^[8]. Not only that, but the wash and dry combined cycle also qualifies for the washer-dryer to have an A-grade energy efficiency class rating.^[9] These impressive results were achieved through advanced heat pump drying technology, which dries clothes quickly, gently and efficiently at lower temperatures.
