Samsung Wallet Now Supports Digital Keys for Select GM Vehicles

Samsung Wallet users in the U.S. and Canada can use their compatible Galaxy device to lock, unlock, and start select GM vehicles, starting with certain Cadillac models

10/6/2026

Samsung Electronics America announced Digital Key support for General Motors (GM) vehicles in the U.S. and Canada, starting with select 2026 and 2027 Cadillac EVs including the 2025-2027 LYRIQ; 2026-2027 OPTIQ; and 2027 VISTIQ, and expanding to additional models by the end of the year. The new feature gives GM customers a convenient and secure way to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles using Samsung Wallet on their compatible Galaxy device.

“Reaching for a car door is one of the most ordinary moments in a day—exactly the kind of moment Samsung Wallet is designed to make easier,” said Woncheol Chai, EVP and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at the Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics. “Now, with Digital Key support for select GM vehicles, many Galaxy users in the U.S. and Canada can enjoy the benefits of a connected experience with the device they already have in their pocket.”

With Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and with Digital Key properly enabled, your compatible device1 can unlock your car door automatically as you approach the car without needing to touch your phone. When you get to your destination, your device automatically locks your car as you walk away from it. If someone else needs to drive the car, sharing your Digital Key is easy. Share Digital Key access, set permissions, and withdraw access remotely within the Samsung Wallet app. And if your device is lost or stolen, you can quickly suspend or delete your Digital Key remotely using Samsung Find on your computer.

Samsung uses layers of security to protect sensitive information stored in Samsung Wallet. Digital Keys are stored in the embedded Secure Element (eSE) offering hardware-based security safeguards for sensitive data. Samsung Wallet is also protected by Samsung Knox, a proprietary defense-grade security platform. Digital Keys in Samsung Wallet meet EAL6+2 certification standards for protection against unauthorized access.

With just a quick swipe, Samsung Wallet gives users easy access to supported digital essentials from IDs and memberships to digital keys, payment cards, and more, right on their compatible mobile device. Learn more about Samsung Wallet at Samsung.com.
