A New Era of Mobile Leadership Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy S10 5G… COMING SOON

UPDATE, April 23: The launch date for the Galaxy Fold has been delayed.

Spring is an exciting time for consumers and Samsung. Soon, we will introduce not one, but two, of the biggest leaps forward in mobile innovation:

“This is a pivotal moment for U.S. consumers—two new groundbreaking devices are coming to market that, each in their own unique way, will change the future of the mobile landscape,” said Travis Warren,Senior Vice President and Head of Carrier Sales and Operations, Samsung Electronics America. “We design our Galaxy devices to open up incredible opportunities for users, and the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy S10 5G are taking that legacy to a whole new level.”

Unfold the Future

Quite simply, there has never been a device like the Galaxy Fold.

We re-imagined every aspect of the mobile experience and as a result, the Galaxy Fold is a revolutionary device that will deliver a meaningful experience for consumers. To engineer it, we invented new technologies and materials. To design it, we studied the experience of folding and unfolding. We created more than 1,000 prototypes and hundreds of designs for what the Galaxy Fold could be. And we’re excited to bring it to you soon.

The Galaxy Fold is a true first-of-its-kind — a tablet-like experience when you want it, and, a compact smartphone when you need it. Hold the Galaxy Fold in one hand and scroll through your Gallery. For a closer look, open the device to reveal the photo on a stunning 7.3” main display¹. The content can move from the cover display to the main display, seamlessly switching to fill the screen, so you can pick up right where you left off².

Or, watch a video clip, chat with friends, and check social media…all at the same time. The Galaxy Fold offers industry-first three-app multitasking³, all on a device that you can easily close up and put in your pocket.

If you’re as excited as we are to see what unfolds, sign up here to be able to the reserve the Galaxy Fold starting on April 12th. Supplies will be limited.

And on April 26th, you can visit select AT&T, T-Mobile, Best Buy or Samsung Experience Stores to purchase the Galaxy Fold.

The Need for Speed

There’s something happening in the air—you can’t see it, you can’t feel it, but it’s the most important thing to happen to mobile networks in years. 5G will bring unprecedented speed and connectivity to the world, and Samsung is starting to make it a reality, today.

In South Korea, we were instrumental in bringing 5G wireless service to consumers. Working with major carriers, we delivered the largest share of 5G network solutions in Korea and deployed 5G core solutions and more than 53,000 5G base station radios—making 5G available to people and businesses in 85 cities across the country. And because our networking technology comes in one of the smallest and lightest form factors available, we made it easier and faster for those carriers to build out their networks and bring hyperfast 5G to their customers.

Of course, this is just the beginning. As 5G is deployed more broadly around the world, consumers will need a device that’s specifically optimized for this new era of connectivity.

Enter the Galaxy S10 5G. The 5G ready smartphone puts the unrivaled power, speed and connectivity of 5G networks directly into the hands of consumers4. It’s a supercharged Galaxy device—with the biggest screen, all-day intelligent battery, and most advanced pro-grade camera system in the S10 line, including a sixth 3D Depth-Sensing camera that unlocks new AR and video capabilities.

Download feature-length movies hyperfast5, stream and game with faster speed[6], and immerse yourself on the stunning 6.7” Dynamic AMOLED display. Take amazing photos and video and be the first to post, even on a crowded network. The possibilities of S10 5G are endless, and you can experience it in the U.S. starting in May.

We’re excited for what’s to come. From a next-generation form factor, to a device that unlocks hyperfast connectivity, Samsung is leveraging its legacy of technological innovations to redefine the mobile experience all over again.
