Awesome Up: New Samsung Initiative Inspires In-Store Success for Retailer Sales Staff

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 16 September 2021 – Samsung has revealed the winners in its exciting Awesome Up initiative, designed to motivate retail sales teams in a challenging retail environment. The Awesome Up campaign was created to support sales staff post Covid-19, and help address some of the dynamics they have faced including lower foot traffic, revised safety protocols and the need to find new ways to engage customers at the point of purchase.

 

The new campaign, which included one million rands in prizes, invited salespeople and sales managers to find compelling ways to engage with customers. Those who echoed Samsung’s passion for bringing game-changing innovation and best-in-class technology and service were in the running to win prizes including a VW Polo GTi, a VW Polo TSi, cash prizes and Galaxy Buds+. Both salespeople and sales managers were evaluated based on overall sales achievement or most-improved sales. Open to both national and regional sales over the last few months, Awesome Up consisted of weekly and monthly competitions, as well as the chance to win the main overall prizes. The retail service providers were assessed against sales made on innovative devices such as the Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy S21 5G.

 

Samsung is pleased to announce the following major prize winners:

  • Top Performing FSM, Wickus Van Rooyen, Vodacom 4U Woodlands Boulevard – Winner of a VW Polo GTI
  • Most Improved FSM, Colin Pretorius, Alisom – Corporate (also Westgate Direct) – Winner of a VW Polo TSI

 

The winners received the keys to their new cars on 25 August 2021.
