Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge premium smartphones redefine mobile phone photography

Samsung Electronics South Africa has taken mobile phone photography to a new level with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge by incorporating advanced features and leading technology in the camera to deliver sharper, higher quality photos and video – even in challenging low light conditions. Traditionally, photos captured with a mobile phone have been second best to photos taken with a dedicated camera, but Samsung is changing all that with the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones.

“Having your smartphone at hand all day makes it indispensable for recording the most special moments in your life. Samsung has merged groundbreaking technology and revolutionary features into the S7 camera in order for the photos to be up to standard for print enlargement and framing,” says Craige Fleischer, Director of Integrated Mobility at Samsung Electronics South Africa.

Innovative photography elements include Motion Panorama which allows you to take sweeping actions in panoramas with motion; Motion Photo, which captures three seconds of video before you press the shutter and Hyperlapse, which enables professional-grade time-lapse footage. The selective focus option can also be used to achieve sharp, professional-looking portraits with unfocused backgrounds.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge features a Dual Pixel 12 MP rare-facing camera. Each and every one of the pixels on the image sensor has two photodiodes instead of one, meaning the professional-grade Dual Pixel Sensor can focus as quickly and as accurately as you would with your own eyes.

The metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) 5 MP front-facing selfie camera delivers everything that has been lacking in selfie cameras in the past. A front-facing flash and options allowing you to adjust the spotlight for a variety of lighting effects ensure crisp and clear images. Even wide angle selfies are now possible by panning the camera sideways up to 120˚; making certain that everyone in the group is in the picture.

Boasting up to 4K video capability, with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, greater control is given over the focus, exposure and white balance of both photos and video footage.

With a high performance Octa-Core (2.3 GHz, 1.6 GHz) processor, the built-in camera easily handles burst mode photos, filming and editing of longer video clips. Thanks to microSD support, storage capacity can be extended as needed to save more photos and videos.

“Samsung is completely changing how consumers capture and share experiences by breaking the boundaries of what a smartphone can do and by answering their needs. Our mobile technology is designed to be meaningful and to present new possibilities to how people live, work, explore and create,” concludes Fleischer.
