JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – March 12, 2020 – Samsung kick-started March with the inaugural Samsung RUN in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The run was inspired by Samsung’s support of lifestyle choices that are healthier and initiatives that uplift people and communities. Samsung Africa President and CEO, Sung Yoon welcomed runners to the event, that saw both 5km and 10km runners rise to the challenge of being the best version of themselves.

The participants also ran with a purpose as Samsung matched the amount received from race entry fees as a donation to the Gauteng Sports Trust. The Trust was formed to provide sporting infrastructure, kit and equipment and benefit programmes aimed at developing the young people of South Africa.

“Through our Samsung ecosystem, partnerships and pioneering technology we will continue to amplify the Samsung RUN in unique ways. We believe we can harness the power of our unrivalled innovation to continue to enhance the lives and wellbeing of millions of South Africans,” said Kagiso Khaole, Head: Content & Services Africa.
