The 105” QPDX-5K and 115” QHFX redefine what’s possible in display for corporate, education and retail environments

Samsung Electronics South Africa has officially launched its Supersized Displays, the 105-inch QPDX-5K and 115-inch QHFX, at a showcase event held at Samsung DQX, Design Quarter in Fourways, Johannesburg.

The event marked Samsung’s entry into the ultra-large display category in South Africa, physically demonstrating the screens’ performance in picture and sound, exceptional design and commercial potential. With their commanding scale, 5K resolution and advanced collaboration features, these displays are set to transform how organisations communicate, present and engage across corporate, education, and retail sectors.

Guest speaker Morris Garrard, Head of Pro Display at FutureSource Consulting and market analyst covering LCD Flat Panel Displays (FPD), shared valuable market insights in his presentation titled “Establishing the Market Opportunity for Large-Screen Displays.”

“In 2025, the global market volume of FPDs is expected to reach 8.2 million units, valued at $16.4 billion – an increase of 2.7% over 2024 figures,” Garrard noted. “The South African market reached 23,500 units in 2024 and is forecast to grow to 30,400 units by 2029 – a clear sign of upward momentum. Given Samsung’s strength in the market, these products are perfectly positioned to capitalise on that growth.”
