Gaming, audio-visual, mobile and washing machine technologies will enhance consumer lifestyles

Samsung has recently revealed a wide range of new innovations at its CES 2017 press conference. These include the stunning new QLED TV and FlexWash & FlexDry laundry system, the company’s first-ever gaming laptop and updates to the Gear S3 smartwatch. Samsung is clearly reaching higher than ever with products designed to enhance the way consumers live, work and play.

“The announcements made at Samsung’s CES 2017 press conference highlight just how Samsung is pioneering technology to truly fit consumers’ lives in even more personalised, intuitive ways,” says Michelle Potgieter, Director of Brand and Product Marketing and Communications at Samsung South Africa.

Tim Baxter, President of Samsung Electronics America, kicked off the press conference by sharing the company’s commitment to achieving more for customers in 2017. He outlined three key areas of focus for 2017: developing technology that fits the lives of consumers; infusing elegant and thoughtful design into all Samsung products and continuing to build on the company’s leadership in the Internet of Things (IoT) space.

After Baxter, the Executive Vice President at Samsung Electronics America, Joe Stinziano, introduced Samsung’s new QLED TV and Quantum Dot Curved Monitor, in addition to the latest innovations in audio technology. Won Jin Lee, Executive Vice President (EVP) at Samsung Electronics, then highlighted how Samsung is leading the industry in aligning the TV experience to customers’ daily lives, by introducing voice control enhancements to the Samsung Smart TV remote and more personalised TV discovery options, particularly for 4K HDR content.

John Herrington, Senior Vice President (SVP) at Samsung Electronics America, then presented the new FlexWash & FlexDry laundry system and built-in premium kitchen appliances, which will bring unparalleled flexibility and choice to home appliances. He also unveiled the expansion of Samsung’s hugely successful Family Hub refrigerator series and updates to the Family Hub platform.

Finally, Alanna Cotton, Vice President (VP) at Samsung Electronics America, introduced the company’s newest wearable and mobile products, including the Gear S3 with LTE connectivity and the next generation of the Samsung Chromebook Plus, designed for Google Play. She also demonstrated the new Samsung Notebook 9 for Windows users, as well as Samsung’s first-ever gaming laptop, the Notebook Odyssey.

“CES has been the launch pad for a multitude of innovations and technologies that have helped to change the world over the years. As one of the globe’s most innovative organisations, Samsung believes that this is therefore the ideal platform to announce its latest technology solutions. Naturally, South African consumers can look forward to gaining first-hand experience with these new products over the course of 2017,” concludes Potgieter.
