Samsung’s Gear IconX: Delivering Unrestricted Music to Your Ears

Samsung Electronics South Africa has announced a genuinely unrestricted way to enjoy music while exercising, in the form of its Gear IconX earbuds. Most people love to listen to their favourite songs when working out, but it is all too easy to get wrapped up in wires, rather than the music, when trying to listen and exercise at the same time.

The Gear IconX earbuds set is wireless and has been designed to enable you to train without any distraction, whether you are a dancer, gymnast, long distance runner, or taking a casual walk with your dog. While there are other Bluetooth earbuds that eliminate pesky cables that can trip you up, these still need to be paired with a smartphone – and carrying this while working out remains unwieldy and inconvenient.

“What sets the Gear IconX earbuds apart is that they have 4 GB of internal memory and can hold up to 1,000 tracks. The Gear IconX earbuds are capable of fitting snugly and comfortably into your ears and the biggest benefit is the ability to be cord free, as well as hands free for ultimate mobility. They also serve as a Fitness Tracker and are smart enough to track activities and provide updates on essential data through the S-Health App on your smartphone. This includes duration as well as heart rate, all via a dedicated voice guide.

Fleischer adds that while these earbuds allow you to perform in a totally unrestricted manner, that doesn’t mean you have to be oblivious to the world around you.

“Users are able to turn on the ambient sound mode, to remain aware of their surroundings. In other words, you can hit your stride with your favourite tracks pumping, without losing track of what is going on around you.”

For convenience sake, the Gear IconX case doubles as a charger, enabling users to power their earbuds while they are at rest between workout sessions. The case also serves as the means by which music is downloaded.
