Sponsorship of SA’s Biggest Music Festival, ULTRA South Africa 2017
Unique opportunity to interact with young, affluent and
influential consumers
Samsung Electronics South Africa is excited to announce its sponsorship of the ULTRA South Africa Music Festival 2017, an institution in the global youth music festival events calendar.
ULTRA SA represents the world’s biggest and most successful independent electronic music festival brand, with the most significant international presence, having united twenty countries across five different continents.
“The ULTRA SA 2017 Festival will see dozens of top quality artists from around the world, including David Guetta, Martin Garrix and South African international dance music sensation, Black Coffee, perform over two days in Cape Town and Johannesburg, to tens of thousands of fans per show. Samsung is thrilled to have the chance to directly engage with this large market of young, affluent and influential consumers,” says Justin Hume, Director: Marketing at Samsung Electronics South Africa.
The youth market tends to value experiences over products, which is a key factor in driving the popularity of music festivals like this. Samsung has therefore noted the unique opportunity this event will afford it to interact with such consumers. Engagements like these will include offering festival goers the chance to delve into immersive creations with Gear VR, as well as experiencing 360 content created at the event. “Our goal with this partnership is to bring a new dimension of reality to ULTRA SA, especially for the Samsung fans who will be at the event,” continues Hume. “We want to take an already epic experience and make it even more awesome, in the way that only Samsung technology can. As innovators, we aim to break the barriers of the current festival experience.”
“Samsung is one of the world’s most pioneering and high performing brands, while ULTRA South Africa consistently aims to be the country’s best and most creative dance music festival. These two brands coming together for ULTRA SA 2017 is a seamless and natural fit. We are extremely eager to see what new elements we can bring to the festival to make it even bigger and better for 2017, as well as for many events after that,” says Shaun Duvet, Partner in ULTRA South Africa.
ULTRA SA 2017 will take place on February 24 in Cape Town and February 25 in Johannesburg and will see artists including Dash Berlin, KSHMR, DJ Snake, Felix Jaehn, Headhunterz, Nic Fanciulli, Black Coffee, David Guetta and Martin Garrix take the stage, along with the who’s who of South Africa’s own top musical talent.
“This renowned music festival will enable Samsung to promote next-level awareness of its brand to a unique niche market, as well allow the organisation to break technology boundaries and be truly distinctive. ULTRA SA 2017 and Samsung are the perfect team, as we both deliver an experience that consistently exceeds expectations,” concludes Hume.
