As Samsung’s flagship CSR initiative, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’, enters its third edition, here are some compelling reasons to apply for this national innovation and education competition:

 

  1. Separate Track for School Students: For the first time, school students aged 16-17 years have a dedicated “school track,” alongside the “youth track” for those aged 18-22. This provides a unique platform for younger students to showcase their innovative ideas under the theme of “community and inclusion.”
  2. First-Ever Design Thinking Workshop for School Students: ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ will feature workshops focusing on fostering creativity through the design thinking approach. These sessions will equip students with the confidence and methods to turn their ideas into reality by evoking empathy for real-world problems. The workshops will also enhance critical thinking, teamwork, and technical skills, which are invaluable for future careers.
  3. Recognition and Exposure: Participants will have opportunities to interact with members from IIT Delhi, Samsung leadership, and media partners. Winners will be featured in an exclusive documentary highlighting their solutions and journeys. This exposure can open doors to further opportunities and visibility.
  4. Bilingual Presentations: This competition breaks language barriers by allowing presentations in both English and Hindi. This inclusivity encourages participation from students in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, expanding the event’s scale and scope.
  5. 5-Day Innovation Walk at Samsung R&D Centers: Semi-finalist teams will have the unique opportunity to visit Samsung’s R&D centers in India. This experiential learning will help participants become future-ready and job-ready. On the fifth day, each team will pitch their ideas at the National Pitch Event at IIT Delhi to be among the Top 10 Finalist teams.
  6. Prizes for Ages 14-17: Regional shortlisted teams (50 teams) will receive certificates of participation. Semi-finalists (10 teams) will receive INR 20000 grant per team and a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Finalists (5 teams) will receive a Rs 1 lakh grant per team and a Samsung smartwatch, while the winner, named the “community champion,” will receive INR 25 lakh grant and Samsung products for their school.
  7. Prizes for Ages 18-22: Regional shortlisted teams (50 teams) will receive certificates of participation. Semi-finalists (10 teams) will receive  INR 20000 grant per team and a Samsung Galaxy laptop. Finalists (5 teams) will receive a Rs 1 lakh grant per team and a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphone, while the winner will receive a Rs 50 lakh grant and Samsung products for their college.
  8. Networking Opportunities: From the ideation phase to building your own prototypes, participants will connect with like-minded individuals, professionals, leaders, and potential collaborators, expanding their professional networks.
