Samsung and Haryana Government Sign Agreement to Provide Quality Healthcare for Patients in Civil Hospital
Samsung India and the Department of Health, Government of Haryana, today signed an agreement to introduce Samsung Smart Healthcare program that facilitates affordable and quality healthcare to patients from the economically and socially deprived sections of society, in Civil Hospital, Gurgaon. As a part of the programme the company is donating advanced equipments manufactured by them.
Samsung Smart Health initiative has been designed by the Company to provide government hospitals with its state-of-the-art medical equipments with the aim to make affordable healthcare accessible to the large number of patients from Gurgaon and its neighbouring localities, especially from the economically weaker sections.
The agreement for the Samsung Smart Healthcare project was signed between Mr. T.L. Satyaprakash, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Gurgaon and Mr. Rajiv Mishra, Vice President, Samsung India in the presence of Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurgaon, Dr. Ramesh Dhankar, Civil Surgeon, Civil Hospital and Mr. Dinesh Lodha, Vice President, Health & Medical Equipment Business, Samsung India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. T.L. Satyaprakash said, “We constantly seek ways to offer affordable healthcare facilities for more people in and around Gurgaon. Given the large volume of patients at our government hospitals, we welcome support from companies such as Samsung in helping hospitals cater to the locals’ need for quality healthcare. As the healthcare has become costly, it is important that more and more firms contribute under this policy so that a common man doesn’t suffer for the lack of paying capacity.”
He further said “The state government has formulated a policy to create a platform where all such organizations who want to donate for healthcare facilities under CSR provisions and this MoU is done under the aegis of the same arrangement. Samsung is the first such organization to contributefor healthcare facilities in Gurgaon for this year. The MoU is done as per the provisions of the policy enunciated by the Government.”
Mr. Rajiv Mishra said, “Samsung India strives to promote social development through our various corporate citizenship initiatives. With facilities such as ultrasound, digital radiology and accessories, the Samsung’s Smart Healthcare initiative will allow for an advanced medical examination which will improve the lives of many patients who find quality healthcare inaccessible. We thank the Gurgaon authorities for their support in helping us establish this initiative at the Civil Hospital here in Gurgaon.”
Samsung has, through its Samsung Smart Healthcare initiative, improved the quality and accessibility of diagnosis for patients in three government hospitals in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. A government hospital in Delhi will soon be the fifth to be brought under this initiative.
