Samsung announced that its highly-anticipated new foldable Galaxy Z series smartphones are available for pre-order in India, starting today. The lineup introduces Galaxy Z Fold8, a new foldable designed around immersive content consumption, alongside Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra for advanced productivity and content creation, and Galaxy Z Flip8, Samsung’s slimmest Flip device, built for self-expression and quick everyday interactions.

Built on seven generations of foldable innovation and user feedback, the new Galaxy Z series offers diverse form factors, all powered by Galaxy AI tailored to different needs. On Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, larger displays support seamless multitasking and productivity, while on Galaxy Z Flip8, its AI-native FlexWindow places relevant information and shortcuts within easy reach. Across the range, Galaxy AI features—including Gemini Intelligence—help users complete tasks in fewer steps while maintaining transparency, privacy and user control.

Galaxy Z Fold8: New Foldable Experience Focused on Immersive Viewing

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed for those who want a foldable that transitions smoothly from quick interactions on the cover screen to more immersive viewing, reading and gaming on the main display when unfolded.

The device—weighing just 201g—is Samsung’s Lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet despite packing a large 4800mAh battery that extends daily use.

Its display adapts to different types of content. When folded, the 10:16 cover screen is designed for tasks such as messaging, social media, web browsing and watching short-form video. When unfolded, the 4:3 main display provides a larger viewing area for games and films while reducing unused screen space for 16:9 content. When rotated, the display ratio becomes better suited for reading articles and e-books.

The Galaxy Z series introduces Flex Titanium, an updated display structure that combines a titanium alloy film with an enhanced titanium plate to reduce crease visibility and withstand repeated folding, pressure and everyday impacts while preserving flexibility.

The main display reaches up to 3000 nits of peak brightness, while Vision Booster and a low-reflection display finish improve outdoor visibility.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 boasts a dual 50MP camera system that delivers hi-res images from both wide and ultra-wide cameras. It is designed to make capturing and editing photos and videos easier across different scenes and shooting conditions. Its Dual Recording allows users to record both sides of a moment while previewing themselves on the cover screen, while My FanCam automatically tracks a selected subject and reframes footage into a preferred aspect ratio, reducing the amount of manual editing needed before sharing.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: The Most Advanced Foldable for Productivity

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra brings Samsung’s highest level of performance, capability and innovation to the foldable category. The device combines a large display, an advanced camera system and hardware designed for demanding workflows, from multitasking to content creation.

Galaxy Z Flip8: An AI-Native Flip Experience

The new Galaxy Z series combines multi-layered security, on-device personalisation and expanded privacy controls across Galaxy AI.

Samsung Knox protects every Galaxy device from the chip level up, through a multi-layered security approach that includes user-controlled cloud processing and ecosystem-wide protection through Samsung Knox Matrix.

Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection creates encrypted, app-specific storage environments and Knox Vault adds a tamper-resistant physical layer for sensitive information to keep personal data secure while giving users clearer choice over how AI features operate.

One UI 9 introduces an AI Assistant Activity dashboard that provides a central view of AI automations. Users can review AI actions in one place, move directly to the relevant agent for additional context and adjust settings where needed.

By scanning a QR code on their current iPhone, users can wirelessly transfer data without downloading additional apps.
