Samsung continues to empower Nepal’s youth through its global CSR initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC). At a ceremony held at Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, 30 students were awarded certificates for completing the Artificial Intelligence (AI) course. Simultaneously, the programme welcomed its third batch comprising 60 students, who will embark on the Coding and Programming course.
Since its launch in 2023, SIC has played a pivotal role in Samsung’s vision, “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People” by equipping young minds with future-ready skills essential for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The AI course, spanning around five months, focused on advanced AI concepts and practical applications.
The certificate ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. In Su Kim, Head of Samsung Nepal; Prof. Kesar Jung Baral, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University; Dr. Indra Prasad Acharya, Campus Chief of Pulchowk Campus; and Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Dean at Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.
“At Samsung, our vision of ‘Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People’ inspires us to empower youth through innovation and education. Seeing the dedication of these students and celebrating their achievements fills us with pride. We are excited to see the impact they will create in the future,” said In Su Kim.
The programme’s curriculum not only delivers advanced technological training in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding but also emphasizes essential soft skills like problem-solving and creativity. A unique highlight of the initiative is its practical project segment, where students address real-world issues using the technologies they learn.
Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Dean of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, noted the programme’s transformative impact: “The successful completion of the AI course is a testament to the immense value this programme brings to our students. Samsung’s efforts in fostering innovation among Nepal’s youth are deeply appreciated, and we look forward to continued collaboration.”
The Coding and Programming course, designed for the incoming batch, will provide students with foundational and advanced knowledge in algorithms, data structures, and real-world programming. The initiative aims to nurture a robust innovation ecosystem in Nepal, preparing students to thrive in an evolving digital landscape.
Samsung’s ongoing commitment to education and innovation underscores its belief in creating lasting, positive change. Through initiatives like Samsung Innovation Campus, the company is equipping the next generation of innovators to build a brighter future for Nepal and beyond.
