History repeats a pattern. The breakthroughs that change everything are rarely the most powerful inventions. They are the moments those inventions reach into daily life. Electricity changed society not with power plants, but when a switch appeared in homes. The internet became ours through the browser. The phone became powerful through the ecosystem of apps that grew on top of it.

AI will be no different.

Where AI Meets People

AI is getting smarter faster, and this will continue. But to change how people live, it must answer: where, how and into whose hands does this intelligence reach? This will define AI’s next chapter.

AI no longer merely answers. It is entering an agentic age, taking action on our behalf while the person carries the final decision. But to act for someone, it must first know them.

That is why it matters where AI meets people. The entry points are where AI understands a person and builds trust. The best AI experiences will come from the devices that know the user best.

This is what Samsung has spent years building. The phone is closest to us, with us daily. The tablet is where we create and learn. The watch reads signals like sleep and heart rate. The TV and connected home appliances add context from where we live. And new form factors, from foldables to intelligent eyewear, expand where AI meets us. Together, a fuller picture of a person’s needs forms.

These entry points are powerful together. Signals from across devices become timely assistance: sleep tracked by your watch shapes tomorrow’s schedule, with information always available. AI at its best works quietly in the background, bringing these moments into a cohesive experience. That is why we have spent years building an ecosystem not just to reach, but to connect more moments.

Built on Openness and Trust

Samsung does not do this alone. The platforms that changed the world were the most open. The web was. So were mobile operating systems. With SmartThings, we brought devices, services and partners into one connected experience, shaping industry open standards. Openness lets the best ideas reach people faster. And we don’t simply layer intelligence on top, but design how AI works at the center so it serves each person in context.

But openness alone is not the goal. The harder task is turning intelligence into something personal and trustworthy. The best intelligence in the world should reach people through their everyday devices. But what makes it personal is understanding the user and keeping that understanding safe. That is our responsibility.

As AI becomes more personal and agentic, trust becomes the foundation. People need to know what AI is doing for them and remain in control.

This is why trust isn’t added at the end. Samsung Knox protects each Galaxy device and now the connections between them. As intelligence moves across devices, protecting what flows between them is crucial. The most personal data stays on the device so people can understand how AI is working and remain in control.

The Next Chapter of Galaxy

That same understanding shapes the devices we build. The more personal and capable AI becomes, the more form matters. As AI helps us with more at once, a screen that flexes and folds expands what is possible. This is what makes foldables special: they fold into your hand or open a larger stage. On this journey, Samsung has continued to make foldables thinner, lighter, stronger and more immersive.

AI is also essential in health. How we sleep, recover and look after ourselves — daily choices add up. A device close to us, like a watch, tracks these signals ensuring a better day.

The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked is where we will show what’s next in bringing all this together: more personal, natural AI experiences on a foundation more partners can build on. The question that opens the next era is not who has the smartest AI, but who understands people best, and turns that understanding into experiences they can trust.

We intend to take this path with openness and responsibility, beginning with the device already in your hand. We open this next chapter together at Galaxy Unpacked.

Our phones are our most personal space, but we use them in the least private places. On the bus, in the elevator, and wherever we’re waiting in line, our digital laundry gets aired in plain view. And as phones become more tailored to our routines and preferences, concerns about privacy are only growing.

That’s why Samsung will soon unveil a new layer of privacy to shield your phone from shoulder surfing wherever you go. You’ll have the space to check your messages or enter a password on public transit without thinking twice about who might be watching.

Flexible Protection Built Over Years

Not everyone needs the same level of privacy. This new layer gives you the choice to decide what works best for you. You can customize it to raise your guard with specific apps, or when entering access details for more private areas of your phone. With multiple settings for adjusting visibility, you can limit what others can see based on the level of privacy protection you need.

You can also choose to protect specific parts of your experience, such as notification pop-ups. It’s a tailored approach that you can fine-tune or switch off entirely, rather than a blanket one.

It took over five years of engineering, testing and refining to get here. We studied how people use their phones, what they consider private, and how security should feel in everyday life. The result is a fusion of hardware and software expertly calibrated to protect you without getting in your way.

A New Standard for Mobile Privacy

This is the latest in a series of Galaxy innovations designed to keep you safe. There is no privacy without strong security. For more than a decade,Samsung Knoxhas established layers of protection for Galaxy devices, from dedicated security hardware likeKnox Vaultto ecosystem defenses such asKnox Matrix. This latest safeguard builds on that commitment to security, introducing privacy at a pixel level.

This is privacy you can see and security you can feel — and it’s coming to Galaxy very soon.

As incidents of phone theft continue to rise around the world, Samsung is calling on Galaxy users to activate the latest anti-theft features now available on their devices. These updates reflect Samsung’s commitment to delivering smarter, stronger protection – helping users safeguard their data and stay in control, even in high-risk situations.

Samsung’s One UI 7 security update, which includes additional theft protection and anti-robbery features, is now available for Galaxy S25 Series, Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 Series and Galaxy S22 Series.

Onemajor updateis Theft Protection – a multi-layered suite of features developed to safeguard personal data, even in high-risk situations such as robbery.

Theft Protection builds on standard Android safeguards, which are effective in typical theft scenarios where the thief doesn’t know the user’s PIN. With One UI 7, Samsung goes further by introducing additional protections that address more advanced or high-risk threat scenarios, including cases where access credentials may have been exposed.

Galaxy users can now enable a range of new security measures, including Identity Check,an opt-in feature designed to offer stronger protection in complex theft scenarios. These features respond automatically and intelligently to suspicious activity, helping ensure that personal data remains secure and under the user’s control in these critical moments.

Existing and updated features in Theft Protection include:

Theft Detection Lock: This uses machine learning to detect motions associated with theft such as snatching, and instantly locks the screen to prevent unauthorised access.

Offline Device Lock: The screen gets automatically locked if the device is disconnected from the network for an extended period, ensuring protection even when the device is offline.

Remote Lock: If the device has already been stolen, the user can lock it remotely using his/her phone number and a quick verification step. Remote Lock also allows users to regain control of their accounts and explore additional recovery options.

New Anti-Robberyfeatures released on One UI 7 include:

Identity Check: In unfamiliar locations, theSafe Placesfeature (accessible via Identity Check) requires biometric authentication for any changes to sensitive security settings, adding an additional layer of protection when a PIN may have been compromised.

Security Delay: A key component of Identity Check, it triggers a one-hour waiting period if someone attempts to reset biometric data. This crucial buffer gives users time to lock the stolen phone from a connected device, such as a PC or tablet, before unauthorised access can occur.

These updated theft features are devices with One UI 7, with future updates OS planned for even more Galaxy smartphones.

Further steps to take if your Samsung Galaxy device is lost or stolen

How to remotely lock your Samsung Galaxy device:

Sign into Samsung Find using your Samsung account

Select your phone on the left-hand side of the page, then choose Lost Mode in the device details section

Create a PIN to unlock your phone if recovered, and enter it twice to confirm

You will have the option to add an emergency contact and a custom message that will display on the locked screen (It’s recommended to skip this step to avoid sharing personal contact details)

When you are ready, select the Lock button and verify your Samsung account to activate Lost mode

If your device is recovered, you can unlock it using the PIN that was created when setting lost mode on your device

How to remotely delete data on your Samsung Galaxy device:

Visit the Samsung Find website

Select the phone you want to erase and choose Erase Data

You’ll see its current or last known location

Other remote features available withSamsung Find:

Ring: Make your device ring even if it’s set to silent or vibrate

Extend battery life: Activate power-saving settings to keep your device on longer and improve the chances of recovery

The potential of AI is limitless, but to truly unlock the full potential of what it can do, user inputs that power personalized experiences are critical. AI needs to understand you — your preferences and your routines — to deliver a mobile experience that feels like a natural extension of your everyday life.

Intuitive, context-aware Galaxy AI features bring these personalized experiences to life, transforming your smartphone from a tool to a smart companion that anticipates your needs and offers suggestions designed to make your life more productive, creative and connected.

To deliver a fully personalized experience, your device naturally needs access to certain data. This is what allows AI to understand you and tailor its responses in ways that are genuinely helpful and suited to your lifestyle. To ensure your personal data is safeguarded in this era of AI, we’re constantly innovating data protection on your device, so that nothing falls into the wrong hands.

Personalization Made Possible With the Personal Data Engine

Samsung Electronics’Personal Data Engine (PDE)1is a key component of safely delivering these highly personal experiences. First introduced with the Galaxy S25 series, the PDE is the powerhouse behind some of Galaxy’s most life-changing AI experiences yet. It works silently behind the scenes to learn from your habits and preferences, resulting in a truly personalized, unique experience.

Whether it’sNow Brief2guiding you through your day with curated updates or simply finding that one perfect photo in your Gallery with natural language input, Galaxy AI makes every AI-powered action feel seamless. And because the PDE safely processes your data on-device, you can enjoy all the benefits of deeply customized AI — without compromising privacy.

Powerful Advancements With Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection

To further strengthen the security of Galaxy AI experiences, Samsung developedKnox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP)3 — a powerful new layer of on-device security that protects your most sensitive data without interrupting your experience. First developed for thePDE, KEEP now also safeguards other Galaxy AI features like Smart Suggestions, Now Brief, Samsung Moments and more, running quietly in the background to ensure that each supported app is kept secure.

Think of your phone like a house. Each app has its own room — separate, but all under the same roof. Then there’sSecure Folder,4 which works like a fully detached guesthouse with its own key, set apart from the main home. It’s great for keeping certain things extra private, especially when you want complete isolation from the rest of your device. But as AI features like the PDE start handling more sensitive tasks in real time, there’s a growing need for security that’s just as strong, yet more connected to your everyday experience.

That’s where KEEP comes in. Imagine turning part of the house into a private suite — still under the same roof, but with its own secure entrance that only you can use. It’s more private than a regular room, but not completely separate like the guesthouse. KEEP works the same way: it creates a secure, dedicated space for individual apps — like the PDE — so it can safely handle your data without sending it anywhere or getting in the way of how you use your phone.

As our mobile experiences become more intelligent, KEEP ensures your most personal data stays safe by design. Together with tools like Secure Folder, it reinforces Samsung’s multi-layered approach to data protection — giving both users and services the right type of security for different privacy needs.

With Galaxy AI becoming more personal, features like the Personal Data Engine and Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection are setting a new standard for mobile intelligence —where personalization and privacy go hand in hand. As these experiences grow smarter and more attuned to your needs, you can rest assured that your most sensitive information will stay safe on your device, exactly where it belongs.

1 The Personal Data Engine functions when the Personal Data Intelligence menu is on. Analyzed data will be deleted once the Personal Data Intelligence menu is turned off.
2 Now Brief feature requires a Samsung Account login. Service availability may vary by country, language, device model and apps. Some features may require a network connection.
3 Available on Galaxy smartphones and tablets with One UI 8 or later.
4 Secure Folder offers users a separate and protected area of their phone or tablet to store sensitive apps and data. It allows users to set up separate profiles which can duplicate your apps. Users can customize the Secure Folder app and set up their own lock type, including PIN, pattern, password and fingerprint. For enhanced security, Secure Folder users are also provided with an option to hide and encrypt the Secure Folder, which helps keep data safe from advanced cybersecurity threats. While hidden, the apps will stop working to keep your data safe. Once the Secure Folder is opened again, the encryption will be deactivated, and the apps will resume normal operation.

Samsung Electronics today announced a new set of security and privacy updates rolling out with its upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphones with One UI 8. These updates reinforce Samsung’s commitment to delivering powerful, trusted mobile technology in a rapidly evolving digital world by introducing new protections for on-device AI, expanding cross-device threat detection and enhancing network security with quantum-resistant encryption.

Next-Generation Mobile Security for AI Personalization

Samsung is introducingKnox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP),1a new architecture designed to safeguard the next generation of personalized, AI-powered features, as its latest innovation in mobile security. KEEP creates encrypted, app-specific storage environments within the device’s secure storage area, ensuring that each app can access only its own sensitive information and nothing more.

Supporting Galaxy’sPersonal Data Engine (PDE),2KEEP helps secure a user’s deeply personal insights — such as routines and preferences — that enable features like Now Brief and Smart Gallery search. These insights stay entirelyon-device, protected by KEEP and further secured byKnox Vault, Samsung’s tamper-resistant hardware security environment. The result is a seamless foundation for Galaxy AI that delivers personalized intelligence while keeping data tightly contained and under the user’s control.

KEEP’s system-level structure allows it to scale across Galaxy AI innovations. In addition to PDE, it now protects Now Brief, Smart Suggestions and other on-device features that rely on user-specific inputs — enabling more advanced AI experiences without compromising privacy. With KEEP, Samsung is redefining how mobile devices safeguard data in the background to elevate privacy from a setting to an embedded design principle.

Smarter, More Connected Threat Response With Knox Matrix

As AI becomes more integrated across the ecosystem, Samsung is advancing protections that offer not just stronger security, but greater transparency and control for users, withKnox Matrixleading the way. Through One UI 8, Samsung is evolving Knox Matrix to deliver more proactive and user-friendly protection for connected Galaxy devices. When a device is flagged for serious risk — such as system manipulation or identity forgery — it is designed to automatically sign out of the Samsung Account, cutting off access to cloud-connected services to prevent threats from spreading.3

Users are notified across their connected Galaxy devices and guided to the ‘Security status of your devices’ page, where they can review the issue and take action. Even devices without the latest security status updates trigger a yellow-level warning, helping users respond before vulnerabilities grow.

Together, these updates make Samsung Galaxy’s ecosystem-level protection more dynamic, intuitive and visible, empowering users to maintain trust across all their devices with more confidence and clarity.

Secure Wi-Fi Strengthened With Quantum-Resistant Encryption

In continuation of its commitment to quantum-safe security, Samsung is bringing post-quantum cryptography toSecure Wi-Fi,4extending the trusted approach first introduced on the Galaxy S25 series throughPost-Quantum Enhanced Data Protection (EDP). Secure Wi-Fi is now being upgraded with a new cryptographic framework5 designed to strengthen network protection against emerging threats, particularly those anticipated in the era of quantum computing. This enhancement secures the key exchange process at the core of encrypted connections, helping ensure robust privacy even over public networks.

Quantum computing, once fully realized, could undermine many of today’s data protection methods. By integrating post-quantum cryptography, Secure Wi-Fi is built to withstand future attacks that capture encrypted data with the intent to break it once quantum technology matures — a tactic known as “harvest now, decrypt later.” This upgrade fortifies the secure tunnel between Galaxy devices and Samsung servers, reinforcing the integrity of data transmissions in high-risk environments like public Wi-Fi.

In addition to this future-ready foundation, Secure Wi-Fi offers a suite of advanced privacy features:

Auto Protect: Automatically activates in public places like cafés, airports or hotels, securing Wi-Fi connections without requiring user action.

Enhanced Privacy Protection (EPP): Encrypts internet traffic and routes it through multiple layers, combining packet encryption and relay to anonymize device information and help prevent tracking.

Protection Activity: Provides visibility into protection history by showing which apps and networks were secured and how much data was encrypted over time.

A Trusted Platform With Built-In Safeguards

In addition to its latest innovations, Samsung continues to strengthen the core protections that underpin the Galaxy experience. These features reflect a multi-layered security approach that protects across hardware and software, while giving users greater visibility and control:

Knox Vaultsecures sensitive credentials such as passwords, PINs and biometrics in a physically isolated environment, helping to keep them protected even if the main operating system is compromised.

Auto Blockerhelps provide defense by default, blocking unauthorized app installs, restricting command-based attacks and mitigating risks from potential zero-click threats.

Advanced Intelligence Settingsgives users the option to turn off online data processing for AI features, so personal information can stay on-device, fully under their control.

Enhanced Theft Protectionhelps protect personal data even in high-risk situations such as robbery, using safeguards likeIdentity Check and Security Delayto prevent unauthorized access.

This latest set of updates reinforces Samsung’s long-standing commitment to mobile security that evolves with innovation. It strengthens on-device privacy for personalized AI withKEEP, expands transparency and user control through Knox Matrix, and introduces quantum-resistant protection to Secure Wi-Fi for a more future-ready Galaxy experience. As new security challenges emerge, Samsung remains focused on delivering safeguards that are built in, always on and ready for what’s next.

1 Available on Galaxy smartphones and tablets with One UI 8 or later.
2 The Personal Data Engine functions when the Personal Data Intelligence menu is on. Analyzed data will be deleted once the Personal Data Intelligence menu is turned off.

▲ The 8K NQ8 AI Gen3 Processor combines AI sound, AI picture and AI optimization features for a frictionless viewing experience.

Samsung’s AI TV, 2024 Neo QLED 8K QN900D, is equipped with the8K NQ8 AI Gen3 Processor, the company’s most powerful processor to date, as well as a neural processing unit (NPU) that runs twice as fast as its predecessor. Featuring eight times as many neural networks — 512 instead of 64 — the new AI TV analyzes and optimizes content in real time, delivering superior picture and sound quality and elevating the TV experience to one that places viewers at the center.

Full Immersion With AI Picture Technology

Watching a tennis match with the Samsung AI TV is like getting courtside seats. Every serve and every volley come to life right in the living room.

This immersive experience is possible thanks to8K AI Upscaling ProandAI Motion Enhancer Pro which work together to deliver exceptional clarity by sharpening low-resolution content and minimizing ball distortion and blurring.

▲ AI Motion Enhancer Pro uses deep learning to show the precise movements of a soccer ball during a match.

Revolutionizing Audio

Lifelike audio is equally important — and with AI guiding the experience, dialogue is crystal clear even in loud surroundings.Active Voice Amplifier Prodistinguishes between voices and background noise, cutting through the commotion so viewers hear only what’s important.

▲ Active Voice Amplifier Pro ensures that dialogue is clear and audible.

When watching a movie withObject Tracking Sound (OTS) Pro, viewers are no longer spectators — they’re in the character’s shoes, hearing everything from all directions.

▲ OTS Pro puts viewers in the scene so they hear what the characters hear.

Effortless Fine-Tuning

WithAI Optimization, viewers can sit back and relax. This feature automatically fine-tunes the TV’s settings for the best viewing experience. Likewise, gamers don’t have to worry about adjusting the picture or sound withAI Auto Game Mode, which recognizes game titles and genres and automatically optimizes settings for an upgraded experience.

▲ AI Auto Game Mode allows users to focus on their gameplay.

AI Energy Modeconserves energy by using sensors to analyze ambient lighting before automatically adjusting the AI TV screen’s brightness. Similarly, the TV’s processor can identify on-screen motion and alter screen brightness. This feature represents a step toward greater sustainability.

▲ In AI Energy Mode, the screen brightness self-adjusts based on the surrounding lighting.

Meanwhile,Samsung Tizen OSturns the AI TV into more than an entertainment center. A personal curator, the operating system tailors content to users’ preferences while protecting their privacy withSamsung Knox.

▲ Samsung Tizen OS transforms the AI TV into a personal entertainment center.

At its best, technology that enriches lives sits in the background — present, but not intrusive. Samsung’s AI TV continues to evolve to do just that by pushing the frontier of audio and visual experiences, personalized experiences and enhanced sustainability while putting AI to work under the hood.

Our phones are constantly in our hands, but have you considered how often they get into the hands of others? Whether it’s entertaining a child, showing something funny to a friend or sending it in for repair; we hand over our precious devices surprisingly often. Each time we do that, we risk allowing too much access. It’s an invasion of privacy, waiting to happen.

With Pin App and Maintenance Mode, you don’t have to worry about anyone snooping around. You get to decide what people can and can’t see, no matter who’s got their hands on your device. It’s like having a personal bouncer for your phone.

Pin App:

There’s a feeling you get when you hand over your phone to show somebody some pictures. It could be your holiday snaps, or just something funny you saved. But then they accidentallyopen another app and now they see a photo or message, or anything else you didn’t intend to show them. It’s a horrifying moment, but Pin App can stop that from happening again.

Think of Pin App like a personal bouncer for your apps, stopping people from getting into where they’re not welcome. Instead, it keeps them exactly where they’re supposed to be — in the app you’ve pinned — and nowhere else.

Pin App also acts as a Do Not Disturb sign, preventing awkward pop-up notifications that risk showing sensitive information when all you wanted to do was to share a funny social media post.

Setting up Pin App is quick and easy. Simply go to your Settings, then into Security and Privacy. Next, scroll down and find More Security Settings, and you can toggle the switch for Pin App on or tap on the text to view more settings. For extra security, you can choose ‘Ask for PIN before unpinning’, so whoever has your phone will need a password to get out of the pinned application.

Then, open the app you want to pin. Tap the Recents button (or swipe up and hold if you’re using swipe gestures) then tap the icon above the app. Select the ‘Pin this app’ option, and that’s it.

Maintenance Mode:

Many of us at some point during the lifecycle of our device, will find ourselves submitting our phone to a third-party repair service for that cracked screen or that damaged charging port. More often than not, we need to send our device away for a period of time to have the repair done which brings its own risks including the ability of third parties to access private information on our devices.

Even the most careful among us can’t avoid accidents. When you send your phone away to get that cracked screen or damaged charging port fixed, you’ve got no idea who can access your data.

This is where Samsung’s Maintenance Mode can be used.1 It is specifically designed to protect and hide your personal data from being accessed when your device leaves your hands and is sent away for any type of repair.

When you activate Maintenance Mode, you can set up a distinct user profile, ensuring your primary account and data remain private. This mode can be activated either through the device’s Settings, where you tap Device Care before navigating to and tapping Maintenance Mode; or can be activated through the Samsung Members app.

Once Maintenance Mode has been turned on, you can conceal all your personal data including photos, videos, contacts and messages and prevent any unauthorized access. It also ensures that no data is erased by accident from your device, for instance, by a repair service center.2If you do need to send your device away for those repair activities, you can also ensure that those accessing it will only have access to basic device features that enable them to perform the necessary service diagnosis.

▲ Settings > Device care > Maintenance mode

Secure Folder:

Samsung Knox provides layers of security and privacy, not only to protect users but also to give them choice in what they want to secure. For those who want to keep their most personal information separate and safe, there’s Secure Folder.

It’s a container that locks away your data so it cannot be accessed through your phone’s regular storage. It can hold your most private data such as calendar schedules and contact information, as well as notes, photos, videos, files and even apps. You can even encrypt the Secure Folder to keep your apps and data even more locked down until the next time you open the folder.

You can find Secure Folder in your apps. The first time you open it, you’ll have to set your lock type to either a PIN, pattern or password. In addition to these, you can also add fingerprint access —and then you’re good to go. Anything you create within the Secure Folder will be automatically stored here, but you can also move data here any time.

For example, if you want to keep a copy of your driver’s license, you can take a photo of it using the Camera app within Secure Folder, or you can pick a photo in your Gallery, tap the options menu (the three dots) and then select ‘Move to Secure Folder.’

There are a lot of things you can’t control, but when it comes to your privacy, Samsung wants to give you as much control as possible. With Pin App, Maintenance Mode and Secure Folder, you’ve got that extra reassurance against prying eyes.

▲ Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Secure Folder

1 Availability may vary by market and model.
2 As a precautionary measure, users are encouraged to back up any personal data before activating Maintenance Mode.

Fifty years ago, in 1974, Samsung Electronics introduced its first refrigerator, washing machine, and air conditioner to the world. In the time since, we have continuously pushed the boundaries of innovation in digital appliances.

Fast forward to five years ago, in 2019, when Samsung debuted its first Bespoke appliances. These products were made to transform users’ daily lives with customized features and optimized designs. Now, we are set to usher in a new era of AI appliances, featuring cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and SmartThings-based connectivity.

Ahead of the global product launch event on April 3, this editorial will explore how AI appliances and inter-connected smart homes are about to transform our understanding of modern home life.

Why Security Is the Foundation of Bespoke AI Appliances

A recent study conducted by market research firm Ipsos highlights the significance of security in the age of AI. The study surveyed 17,000 people across 17 countries, using the title of “Our Life With AI: The reality of today and the promise of tomorrow.” A key finding was that 42 percent of respondents identified “better security” as a very important application for AI, with an additional 44 percent deeming it somewhat important.

AI technology is brimming with potential, but even the best AI will not be worthwhile if it fails to protect users — in fact, it could be dangerous. And this is why security stands at the core of Bespoke AI appliances. We have prioritized security throughout our product development to ensure users can get all the benefits of AI-based digital appliances, while experiencing peace of mind.

Our AI appliances are protected by Samsung Knox to ensure safe usage. A blockchain-based Knox Matrix monitors and protects Samsung’s inter-connected appliances.

Our newest AI appliances, the Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+ and the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo AI, have earned theDiamondlevel rating for their Internet of Things (IoT) security capabilities from UL Solutions, a global verification company. This rating represents the highest level of IoT security, a distinction that no other home appliance in the world has achieved to date.

But Samsung hasn’t stopped there. We are always researching new technologies that can further enhance the safety of AI appliances and smart homes.

Using AI Appliances to Advance Society

At Samsung, we aspire to develop appliances that go beyond mere convenience for the sake of convenience. Our goal is to create AI appliances that accomplish two things: they are readily accessible for everyone, and they contribute to society by reducing environmental impact.

Samsung’s latest all-in-one washer and dryer boasts a large 17.78 cm LCD touch screen designed for easy operation, catering to users with varying abilities. With Bixby integration, controlling the machine using voice commands is also possible, ensuring wider accessibility. Furthermore, the convenience of Samsung’s Auto Open Door allows users to effortlessly open the refrigerator with just a light touch. And the new washer and dryer also automatically opens its door upon completion of the wash and dry cycle. The combined result of all these improvements is that our appliances are now more user-friendly than ever.

As for the role our products play in society, we are leveraging next-generation technology to reduce environmental impact. This includes using AI to decrease energy usage in appliances and employing enhanced semiconductors to reduce the power consumption and carbon emissions of refrigerators. We are also developing technology that enables continuous use of air purifiers without the need for regular filter replacements.

Bespoke AI Appliances: The Pinnacle of AI Technology

Our 2024 appliance lineup represents the pinnacle of AI integration. Designed to significantly ease the burden of household chores, these appliances incorporate a range of sensors, recognition technology, big data analytics tools, powerful AI chips, and the Tizen OS.

With these capabilities, the way in which appliances are used will undergo a complete transformation. The large displays integrated into Family Hub refrigerators and the 17.78 cm display on Samsung’s latest all-in-one dryer and washer allow easy control and monitoring of appliances throughout the house. Moreover, you can conveniently control the main functions of the product using a smartphone, without having to search for a remote control or fiddling with buttons. This revolutionizes home life.

This year, we’re also planning to incorporate generative AI into Bespoke AI appliances, which will allow users to operate them through natural conversation — much like chatting with family members. Building on SmartThings and the strength of AI appliances, will introduce over 100 diverse inter-connecting experiences that Samsung appliances can offer.

At Welcome to BESPOKE AI on April 3, you’ll have the opportunity to witness Samsung’s groundbreaking AI appliances for 2024. Our products not only prioritize security, but also consider our society and environment. Join us as we embark on this journey to shape the future of Bespoke AI appliances.

Samsung Electronics today announced that Samsung Knox, the trusted security solution integrated into its 2024 TVs, has achieved Common Criteria (CC) certification ahead of product launch.

The CC certification stands as a global benchmark, acknowledged by 31 countries1worldwide, for assessing the security integrity of IT products. Samsung has now achieved 10 consecutive years of CC certification for Samsung Knox, a top-tier security solution for its TVs that has continued to improve year over year. This year, Samsung Knox demonstrates its global security excellence with validation before the 2024 TVs are available to consumers on the market.

“As our daily lives become even more connected, Samsung understands the fundamental need that customers have for the privacy and security of their personal information,” said Yongjae Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With this in mind, we’re proud to have achieved 10 consecutive years of CC certification for Samsung Knox on our TVs, based on the continual strengthening of our security measures and standards.”

The CC exists to ensure consistent and rigorous integrity evaluation standards for IT products and continues to improve the efficiency of evaluation and certification. With improved evaluation and consistent standards, the CC aims to bolster confidence in the security of certified IT products. The CC certification comprises of a Protection Profile (PP) and a Security Target (ST). Samsung Knox has successfully met the ST and achieved the standards for the CC.

The CC certification underscores three core security features of Samsung Knox:

Tizen OS Monitoring:Samsung Knox actively detects potential hacking threats in real time, flagging any unauthorized changes in critical sectors of Tizen OS, the core of Samsung TVs.

Phishing Website Blocking:Samsung Knox verifies web pages accessed by users, preemptively blocking any phishing sites to safeguard user data and privacy.

Enhanced Personal Information Protection:Samsung Knox ensures seamless protection of users’ sensitive personal data through a secure connection with Samsung Knox Vault, a dedicated processor for security functions.2
