Samsung Electronics Singapore welcomed more than 610 participants today to its first-ever Galaxy Walkathon held at The Kallang, bringing the community together for a morning dedicated to championing active living and wellbeing through the help of technology.

Held in support of the Singapore Heart Foundation’s (SHF) heart health movement and in celebration of SG61, the Galaxy Walkathon saw participants completing a 5km scenic walk around The Kallang precinct. Samsung will also be making a donation to support SHF’s ongoing heart health programmes and initiatives in support of healthier lifestyles. Registrations for the event exceeded initial participant targets, underscoring strong public interest in health and wellness activities.

The Galaxy Walkathon is the first activation under Samsung and The Kallang Group’s multi-year partnership, and is part of the  National Stadium Experience, bringing families and the community together through fun activities and memorable shared experiences. To mark this momentous community effort and champion heart health awareness, The Kallang Group will also light up the National Stadium in red on the evening of 13 September.

“We are encouraged to see so many Singaporeans come together for our first Galaxy Walkathon. Every step taken today is a positive step towards better health and wellbeing. As more people look for ways to live more active lives, we believe technology can help make healthy habits easier to build,” said Jeffrey Hahn, President, Samsung Electronics Singapore. “We are also thankful to our partners for supporting this event and helping us encourage more people to take small, meaningful steps towards better health.”

“Exercising is an important way to work towards a healthier heart. We are pleased to partner with Samsung Singapore for the Galaxy Walkathon to encourage more Singaporeans to get active and shape the future of our nation’s heart health together with us,” said Mr Lim Kiat, Assistant Director, Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy, Singapore Heart Foundation.

Beyond the walk itself, participants also had the opportunity to explore a range of wellness-focused experiences at the Walkers’ Village, designed to inspire healthier habits into their daily routines. These included hands-on experiences with the latest Galaxy products powered by Samsung Health. The morning also featured a guided community cool-down session, alongside partner booths and activities as part of the National Stadium Experience. From sports tryouts to the AL!VE Artisan Market, participants were encouraged to stay active, connect with the community and discover new ways to support their wellbeing.

The Galaxy Walkathon marks the first of many upcoming initiatives as part of Samsung Singapore’s broader efforts in promoting wellness and healthier communities through technology, partnerships and community engagement, and Singaporeans can look forward to the latest initiatives and announcements on Samsung Singapore Newsroom.
