Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Series: Ultra Comfort, from Sleep to Workout
The Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic merge an iconic design with new, personalised wellness insights to motivate consumers on their health journey

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today introduced the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch8 Classic[1], establishing an iconic design identity across the entire Galaxy Watch lineup. Building upon the foundation of the Galaxy Watch Ultra’s cushion design, the Galaxy Watch8 Series boasts the thinnest and most comfortable Galaxy Watch ever[2] for continuous health tracking. The Galaxy Watch8 Series suits diverse lifestyles and provides advanced capabilities to set a new standard for style and personalised health experiences.
“In Singapore’s dynamic and fast-paced environment, prioritising health and wellness is more crucial than ever. Our Sleep Apnea feature, certified by Health Science Authority of Singapore, helps to identify potential signs of this condition among users, which affects approximately one in three Singaporeans. Furthermore, the Galaxy Watch8 Series and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) will be the first smartwatches to offer an Antioxidant Index, which measures their carotenoids level, enabling users to monitor how their lifestyle choices may influence their overall well-being,” stated Ronnie Ng, Head of Mobile eXperience, Samsung Electronics Singapore.
Redesigned Inside and Out for Ultimate Wellness
By reimagining both form and function, the Galaxy Watch8 Series delivers unmatched comfort alongside industry-leading performance, making it the ultimate companion for everyday wellness. The distinctive cushion design, which debuted with Galaxy Watch Ultra, now defines the entire Galaxy Watch lineup.
To achieve the thinnest design yet, the internal structure of the Galaxy Watch8 Series was completely reengineered, resulting in an 11% thinner design[3]. Combined with the Dynamic Lug system, the new Galaxy Watch8 Series fits snugly on the wrist, providing greater comfort and improved stability[4] for a better fit and enhanced health-tracking accuracy.
The Galaxy Watch8’s sleek profile is complemented by its exceptional performance. The display is 50% brighter[4] with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits for easy visibility, even under bright sunlight. The enhanced battery[4] of the Galaxy Watch8 Series ensures it can keep up with consumers’ active lifestyle.
Moreover, the dual-frequency GPS provides more detailed and precise location results[4] while the most powerful 3nm processor equipped on the Galaxy Watch8 Series delivers faster performance and greater power efficiency. With the groundbreaking BioActive Sensor that enables deeper and more accurate health insights, the Galaxy Watch8 Series helps provide a holistic view of users’ health.
Motivation for Lasting Health Changes
Sleep is a powerful indicator of health, and every restful night fuels better recovery for the next day. That is why Samsung is continuously elevating the sleep experience with tailored sleep coaching to help consumers create an optimal sleep environment. With the new Galaxy Watch8 Series, consumers can now detect moderate to severe signs of sleep apnea[5].
On top of that, the Galaxy Watch8 Series comes with new, unique health features on the Samsung Health app[6] that help consumers build healthier habits through instant, motivational insights – from sleep to nutrition and workout.

Bedtime Guidance[7]can measure consumers’ circadian rhythm to suggest the optimal time to go to bed for a restful night. Vascular Load[8]helps monitor the stress levels on consumers’ vascular system during sleep. Through these two features, Galaxy Watch8 Series helps provide insights on various lifestyle factors including sleep, stress and activity to help consumers adopt a more comprehensive approach to managing their health.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch8 Series introduces the Antioxidant Index[9]for the first time in a smartwatch, enabling users to measure carotenoid levels quickly, and make informed lifestyle choices for healthy ageing.
Samsung has also most recently announced the availability of the the Sleep Apnea[5] feature for Galaxy Watch in Singapore, and this will be made available on the Galaxy Watch8 Series. This feature will allow more users to identify possible symptoms earlier, so that they can take actions to improve overall sleep health.

The Galaxy Watch8 Series delivers personalised fitness insights to keep users motivated, be it for a novice or an experienced runner. Running Coach[10] calculates users’ fitness level from 1 to 10 and develops a tailored training plan complete with real-time guidance and motivational insights. With the updated Together feature which now supports running, consumers can gamify their fitness journey by challenging friends and family.
If high level of stress persists, High Stress Alert will immediately signal users for a break to help manage their stress levels in real-time. With Mindfulness Tracker, users can record their mood and receive guidance on breathing exercises to relieve their stress – all from their wrist.
Plus, the AI-powered Energy Score[11] gives consumers a snapshot of their energy level, combining physical and mental energy metrics to guide users to plan for a healthier day ahead.
Easier Watch Interaction with Wear OS and Gemini
Developed in close collaboration with Google, the Galaxy Watch8 Series is the first smartwatch to come out of the box with Gemini[12], Google’s AI assistant, and be powered by Wear OS 6. Go hands-free using natural voice commands to get things done on the go with your Galaxy Watch apps like Samsung Health, Calendar, Reminder, and Clock. For example, you can ask Gemini to find a nearby cafe and text a friend to meet you there, all in one go. Or, if you’re ready to start your workout and you have a goal in mind, simply say, “Start a 30-minute run.” The watch seamlessly initiates the workout in Samsung Health.
In addition, thanks to the new One UI 8 Watch, the user interface is optimised for the size and shape of the watch face. The new Multi-Info Tiles provide easy access to health metrics, weather, events and more – all in a single, quick look. Plus, the new Now Bar and depthless notifications ensure key activities are front and center.
