Samsung Launches The Pioneering Curved Gaming Monitor Odyssey G9

The winning strength of the Dual QHD gaming monitor with nVIDIA G-Sync competibility and 1000R curved screen is about to seriously impress gamers everywhere

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 30 November 2020 – Samsung, the number one player in the gaming monitor market*, has announced the global launch of its next-generation Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor. Unveiled at CES 2020, the G9 joins the recently launched G7 in the Odyssey line-up, which has completely reinvented the gaming experience by bringing together the key elements of next-level game play: comfortable curvature, immersive interaction and perfect picture quality.

The Odyssey portfolio’s premium performance has been certified by TÜV Rheinland, a leading international certification organisation, which recognised the Odyssey monitors with the industry’s best high performance 1000R Curved Display and Eye Comfort certificate. The Odyssey G9 is certified to support HRD10+, enabling it to deliver games and content in groundbreaking quality through a combination of Quantum dot technology and an HDR1000 panel. Moreover, the innovative design of the Odyssey G9 won the CES 2020 Innovation Awards in the Computer Peripherals and Accessories category.

The 49-inch G9 High-Definition (DQHD; 5120×1440 resolution) gaming monitor offers a deep and immersive 1000R curvature. The G9 is set to deliver a powerful combination of features under the hood, including rapid 1ms response time with a 240Hz refresh rate and crystal clear QLED picture quality for gaming in dual QHD.
