Celebrating Mother’s Day on the 8th of May, Samsung introduced #MothersNight, an exciting collaboration with South African influencers and their mums. The campaign saw content creators showing appreciation for the incredible role of the nation’s strong, resilient and much-loved women. The #MothersNight campaign sparked moving conversations and generated riveting videos online. The content reflected the heartfelt connection between mothers and their children that included influencers such as Linda Mtoba, Kera Ramz, Mandisa Jakavula, Thameenah Suleman, Melody Molale, Thickleeyonce, Grant Hinds and Chad Nathan. These moments were most enjoyed using Galaxy’s Night Mode to set Instagram alight on #MothersNight. Placed in the spotlight by Samsung’s night-time features, the now famous mums, dazzled on a very special evening.

The influencers were challenged to surprise their moms as well as the women who take on the role, with everything she secretly wants or loves, after the sun goes down. This included movie nights, yoga, ice cream trips and even Samsung photoshoots to reveal the real stars on this night. Tributes were also created for those who have lost their mums. Watch the mix of touching, hilarious and completely captivating #MothersNight influencer posts below.

Clearly still mamma’s “baby girl”, Linda Mtoba enjoyed a cosy night in with many, many helpings of ice-cream

Linda made full use of her Galaxy S22 Ultra’s Night Mode. She captured this heartwarming moment with crystal-clear, bright pics and vivid videos – which she then adjusted to the lighting that best reflected the intimate feel of the moment. Using her device’s pro-grade editing suite was then a breeze, with the help of A.I, so she could return to mamma before the ice-cream melted.

Kera made full use of the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s pro-level video technology feature. This allowed him to create dynamic content – up to an epic 8K quality standard – and even turn moments in the video into high resolution still images. He also enjoyed using Space Zoom so everyone could get really close to the action. He then edited the content on the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s expansive screen using its versatile S pen.

Melody Molale created a retro fashion show inspired by her mum’s fashion sense. You think she pulled off the looks?

To create her one-night-only shoot, Melody turned on Night Mode. This ensured that she could use a space that was dimly lit (and a little less busy) to capture images as clear as day. The Pro Video feature put her in the Director’s chair with options to edit in bold and colourful ways – giving each outfit and pose a unique focus.

Thickleeyonce and her BFF (her mum) seized the night with an extra-fun girls’ night out

Thickleeyonce and her mum clearly clicked – using the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s S Pen. It gave them the option to share the spotlight – which was made bigger and brighter with Night Mode. From a distance, they could check the shot and their chemistry clearly on the Galaxy S22 Ultra screen facing them. From that point they simply clicked the S Pen – like a wand to capture a magical night.
