From Southeast Asia and Oceania to Milan: Changemakers Shaping Social Impact Through Sport & Technology

Innovation among youth is a powerful driving force for social impact, with technology serving as a vital bridge between ideas and the development of solutions that meet real-world needs. Through Samsung’s flagship corporate social responsibility program, Solve for Tomorrow, students are encouraged to explore issues within their communities and develop creative solutions, while building essential critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Building on the digital community “Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People,” launched in collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, Solve for Tomorrow introduced new global themes in 2025.

One of these themes, titled “Social Change Through Sport & Technology” encourages young people to explore how sport and technology can be harnessed to drive meaningful change. Inspired by challenges within their communities and the experiences of those around them, teams across the globe, including those in Southeast Asia & Oceania (SEAO), developed innovative, technology-based solutions that create more inclusive ways for people to participate, play, and compete in sports.

Among them are Team LABMINO from Indonesia, winner of the University category with their project RunSight, and Ahan Khiani from Australia, runner‑up for the 19–24 category with GamesOn365 (formerly TeamUp). Their projects demonstrated how technology-driven ideas can foster greater participation and engagement in sports.

In February, both teams competed against other Solve for Tomorrow winners across the region and were selected as part of the top 10 global Solve for Tomorrow Ambassadors, recognised for the real-world impact their ideas could have.

As part of the Ambassador program, each selected team will receive funding, along with up to two years of continued support from Samsung to help transform their prototypes into commercially viable products. Teams from the Sport & Tech category will be jointly supported by Samsung and the IOC.

The announcement was made during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 and demonstrates how sport and technology can encourage participation, inclusion and lifelong engagement.

We spoke to Ahan about his Solve for Tomorrow journey, from joining the program to being selected as a global ambassador, and his experience at Milano Cortina 2026. Here’s what he shared:
