Samsung Electronics Australia announced the local launch of its latest smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Active2. The new smartwatch extends its growing range of Galaxy Watches that provide a rich and connected feature-set in a sleek and customisable format.
 
The Galaxy Watch Active2 enables users to make and receive phone calls and access social media channels along with many of their most popular mobile apps, as well as enjoy their Spotify library and downloaded playlists straight from their wrist with e-SIM and Bluetooth connectivity. With larger and more sensors than ever before, to support a range of fitness and wellness tracking tools, users now get more accurate measurements and insights to help them monitor sleep, stress levels, heart rates, and more. ¹

The addition of customisable watch faces via Samsung’s My Style ² means users can take a photo of a colour scheme or pattern, and digitally create a custom watch face to match – making the Galaxy Watch Active2 a great style choice for just about any occasion or outfit. With the introduction of both aluminum and premium stainless steel casing variants, the new watch sets the standard for Samsung’s Galaxy Smartwatch styling.

The Galaxy Watch Active2’s mobile connectivity allows users to make and receive calls, check and respond to social media, and even watch short video clips right from the watch ³ . While travelling, users can also uitilise real-time voice and text translation in over 16 languages. ⁴

In partnership with Spotify, Galaxy Watch Active2 users can also log into their Samsung account with a single sign-on to easily browse music and download playlists.

Purposeful Design, Customised to Your Life

The Galaxy Watch Active2 is available in two sizes, 44mm and 40mm and two styles – lightweight aluminium with a casual Fluoroelastomer (FKM) Band, and premium solid stainless steel with a leather strap. With a newly available digital rotating bezel for more convenient navigation, the watch maximises the device’s screen size and makes it easy to scan through content, apps, and updates.

The Perfect Companion for Your Wellness Goals

The Galaxy Watch Active2 offers users new health and wellness tools, providing actionable insights on their diet, exercise, mental health, sleep, and more ⁵. The watch can track more than 39 workouts with seven of them automatically activated when the user starts a workout, including running, walking, cycling, rowing machine, elliptical machine and dynamic workouts. With an updated Running Coach, users can monitor their running pace in real-time and enjoy seven different running programs to help meet their goals. All this is supported through a set of sensors for real-time readings ⁶.

The Galaxy Watch Active2 also helps track stress levels through the Samsung Health smartphone app ⁷ and through its integration with Calm, a sleep and meditation app, users can also access guided meditation programs, now available in English, German and Spanish. Calm also provides advanced sleep pattern information (through the four sleep stages). ⁸

As part of the Galaxy family, the Galaxy Watch Active2 brings the best of Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem to the smartwatch for those who want to do it all. When the Galaxy Watch Active2 is paired to a Galaxy smartphone, ⁹ the Watch Camera Controller10 on the Galaxy Watch Active2 allows the user to take photos, start recording a video, preview footage on the watch, switch

between front and rear lenses, set a timer and then check the final photo or video, all from their wrist. Compatible Galaxy smartphones with Wireless PowerShare can also be used to charge the Galaxy Watch Active2 in an easy and intuitive way ¹¹.

Additionally, the Galaxy Watch Active2 offers users all Samsung services from the Galaxy ecosystem—including Samsung Health, SmartThings, Samsung Pay, ¹²  and more. For example, Bixby can be used to navigate watch, start a workout or check the weather. And of course, everything done on the Galaxy Watch Active2 has secure protection thanks to Samsung Knox.
