Samsung Electronics Australia today announced the expansion of its iconic smart refrigerator offering with the arrival of the 2-Door Family HubTM. Packed with intuitive features and smart technologies, the new 2-Door Family HubTM demonstrates Samsung’s investment in combining modern design to create meaningful solutions that can simplify home life.

Rethinking the Refrigerator

From revealing what’s inside with the swipe of two fingers on its stunning touchscreen to being able to customise the home screen to suit your family’s needs, the new 2-Door Family HubTM offers 656 litres of space with premium design and a fingerprint-resistant finish that is easy to keep clean. To ensure we are providing the latest in style and sophistication, the 2-Door Family HubTM is available in matte black colouring, following its popular entry into the market last year. The 2-Door Family HubTM also includes updated 5.0 software which includes enhancements to some of the most popular features such as the Meal Planner and Food Reminder apps. This update is also available to current Family HubTM users.

Samsung continues to drive food management innovation with the Family HubTM which tags food expiration dates and lets users create shopping lists, food memos or reminders. Using Food AI, food preferences, dietary needs and favourite cuisines can be set so families receive personalised recipe recommendations and weekly meal plans from the improved Meal Planner and Smart Recipes

appsi. There’s also the added convenience of ordering food straight from the fridge and having it delivered to your door using the built-in Woolworths Online shopping appi.

Connecting Families via Interactive Smart Features

The Family HubTM helps bring families closer together and streamlines communication through the Family Board – a digital bulletin board where family members can easily stick notes, and share photos, videos or music. The Morning Brief allows users to receive custom information such as local weather, time, calendar appointments and food reminders to help keep everyone on track and up

to speed with the day’s activities.

The new Bixby voice recognition can even identify who’s talking and show customised information according to the user’s preferred settings. Users can ask the Bixby voice command to assist and help with a range of day-to-day tasks, from finding the nearest restaurant, to playing trivia, sending memos or reminders to other family members or even browsing the internet while stirring the

Samsung’s Family HubTM offers enhanced Smart Home Control, providing a seamless screen mirroring experience from compatible smart phonesii and TVsiii making it a source of endless entertainment in the kitchen. Families can also take advantage of a range of built-in appsiv that enhance the connected home experience such as Uber, Nespresso, Ring Doorbell, and Spotify, while the built-in speaker can fill your kitchen with sound.

Additionally, you can now make or receive callsv from your fridge by activating your compatible phone’s Bluetooth and connecting it to the Family HubTM, while also controlling compatible home appliances and third-party devices with design-enhanced SmartThingsvi.

Designed for Australian living, the Family HubTM fits under standard kitchen bulkheads and creates a harmonious look for clean styling and an integrated, modern design. The 2-Door Family HubTM model includes SpaceMax™ technology which allows the interior walls to be thinner by using efficient insulation to create more storage space inside without increasing external dimensions. It also features an ice and water dispenser with a refillable water reservoir that does not need to be plumbed.
