Samsung Music Studio Range and 115-Inch Micro RGB TV Win 2026 Good Design Awards
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. is today celebrating recognition at the 2026 Australian Good Design Awards, where the Samsung Music Studio 5 and 7 Wireless Speakers achieved a coveted Gold Winner accolade, while the 115-inch Micro RGB MR95F 4K Vision AI Smart TV achieved a Winner Award – both in the Product Design Consumer Electronics category.
The Good Design Awards Jury commended both Samsung audio visual products for demonstrating a balance between advanced technology and visual restraint, creating experiences that complement contemporary Australian interiors rather than dominate them.
According to Phil Gaut, Director, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia, the 2026 Good Design Award accolades recognise Samsung’s ongoing commitment to provide products that Australians can trust to provide incredible performance, premium designs, and long-term value.
“At Samsung, we always strive to push the limits of innovation to bring Australians products that will make a meaningful difference in their lives. We were the first to bring Micro RGB TV technology to Australia,[1] setting a new benchmark of display excellence, colour accuracy and cinema-like[2] home entertainment experiences made for Australian conditions,” said Phil Gaut, Director, Consumer Electronics at Samsung Australia.
“We truly believe great products need to be connected, intelligent, and personalised, designed around how Australians really live. We’re proud to see our 115-inch Micro RGB and Music Studio Series recognised by the most prestigious design awards in Australia.”

Launched in 2026, Samsung’s Music Studio range is designed to deliver immersive audio for music, podcasts, and compatible Q-Symphony TVs, while harmonising with Australian living spaces.
To create the range comprising the Music Studio 7 and Music Studio 5 models, Samsung combined its Audio Labs expertise with a timeless “Dot Design” by renowned designer Erwan Bouroullec. The result gives both Music Studio models a minimalist form intended to avoid association with any particular era or style and enabling the speakers to sit as furniture or art in various settings – from a bedroom to a workshop to a contemporary living room mantel.
As a 2026 Good Design Awards Gold Winner, the Samsung Music Studio 7 and 5 Wireless Speakers were recognised by the jury for transforming audio products into refined lifestyle objects that integrate seamlessly into contemporary interiors.
Of the Samsung Music Studio 5 and 7, the Good Design Awards Jury said:
“The Jury recognises the thoughtful balance achieved between immersive audio performance and visual restraint, noting the product’s successful departure from conventional consumer electronics aesthetics. Particular praise was given to the timeless form language and attention to spatial integration, which demonstrates strong aesthetic sensitivity. The Jury congratulates the team on creating a resolved product that delivers high-quality sound while sitting comfortably across diverse interior environments. Simply beautiful design.”
Samsung 115-Inch Micro RGB MR95F 4K Vision AI Smart TV (Winner, Product Design Consumer Electronics)

As a Good Design Awards Winner in the Product Design Consumer Electronics category, the 115-inch Micro RGB MR95F redefined Australian ultra-premium TV experiences as the first ultra-large TV to bring colour beyond cinema standards to Australian homes[3].
To achieve this new standard, Samsung’s proprietary Micro RGB backlight technology comprises individually controlled red, green, and blue micro RGB LEDs – each less than 100µm in size[4] – producing a hyper-realistic picture via exceptional colour accuracy. Certified by VDE for Micro RGB Precision Colour, the MR95F was the first 115-inch Micro RGB to support 81-bit processing and deliver a colour gamut ratio of the BT 2020 standard (CIE u`,v`) of 100% or more[5].
Of the 115″ Micro RGB MR95F 4K Vision AI Smart TV, the Good Design Awards Jury said:
“The Jury recognises the Samsung 115″ Micro RGB 4K Vision AI Smart TV as a significant advancement in large-scale display engineering, combining proprietary Micro RGB Technology with sophisticated AI processing to deliver hyper-realistic colour precision at an unprecedented scale. The integration of glare-free technology addresses a critical challenge in bright Australian living environments, while the remarkably slim 35.7mm profile and wireless connectivity options demonstrate thoughtful consideration of spatial integration. The Jury was super impressed by how the design and engineering team at Samsung balanced advanced display innovation with architectural restraint, creating an immersive viewing experience that enhances rather than dominates contemporary interiors. The Jury congratulates the team on this refined premium offering.”
Setting the Global Benchmark for Design Excellence
Established in 1958, the Australian Good Design Awards are Australia’s longest-running international design awards and one of the world’s most respected design recognition programs.
The Awards recognise excellence from around the world, with projects evaluated by an independent Jury of more than 100 Australian and international design experts against three core criteria: Good Design, Design Innovation and Design Impact.
Good Design Australia Managing Director, Rachel Wye, said the range of projects recognised in 2026 reflects the role design now plays across the economy and community.
“Design is an important economic and social capability. It influences the products we create, the services we rely on, the policies we develop and the way organisations respond to complex problems,” Ms Wye said. “This year’s Award winners are addressing energy costs, healthcare, environmental degradation, artificial intelligence, disaster preparedness, accessibility and community wellbeing.
“Australia has an extraordinary design community and an opportunity to use that capability to strengthen our economy, improve lives and build industries that can compete internationally,” Ms Wye concluded.
