Canadians are eager to embrace post-pandemic life, and a “new normal” of hybrid working arrangements. With Financial Services employees realizing the benefits of remote work over the last year, many are hoping that a balance between remote and in-office work will become the new norm as the world reopens.

In this new era of work, Financial Services employees need technology solutions that enable them to be more flexible and productive than ever before. Having a desktop-like experience, powered by a phone or tablet, prepares them for whatever the day calls for, whether that’s a day in the office, heading off-site to meet with clients or a day of working remotely.

According to Paul Edwards, Vice President & General Manager of Enterprise Mobility at Samsung Canada, technology gaps related to the post-pandemic work environment will reveal themselves over the coming months. “With a significant number of employees looking to make hybrid work arrangements permanent, they’re going to assess whether or not they have the tools to support their mobility and enable them to multi-task and work across multiple devices in any environment,” he notes.

Greater flexibility to work from your select location

Busy bankers, investors and finance professionals require technology that makes it easy to get the job done, regardless of where they’re working. Solutions like Samsung DeX enable a flexible, work-from-your favourite location approach.

With Samsung DeX, employees can trigger a desktop-like experience from their mobile smartphone or tables. DeX can be activated both wirelessly or through a wired connection. Through a wireless[1] connection to a Smart TV or a Smart Monitor, they can use their mobile device to cast presentations or important files onto a bigger screen for clear viewing.

When connecting their mobile device to a PC or monitor through a USB or cable, Samsung DeX enables a desktop-like experience replete with mouse and keyboard capabilities, drag and drop functionality and contextual menus. Financial Services employees can seamlessly open and share files, complete tasks, and save files easily to their mobile devices, just as they would on a real desktop.

And with the addition of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), employees can access cloud-based corporate apps and documents remotely right from their Galaxy device for a consistent desktop experience.

While using DeX, avid notetakers and collaborators can use the redesigned S Pen or S Pen Pro for the latest Galaxy devices – now an optional addition for the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and included in-box with the Galaxy Tab S7+ – to jot down ideas, share them with colleagues and edit documents in real time, allowing them to get even more done while working from their smartphone or tablet.

With the ability to pair Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro with their Galaxy smartphone or tablet, employees have even greater flexibility to take work calls from any location without compromising audio quality. Crystal-clear call quality allows employees to confidently lead a virtual meeting or share feedback on a call, knowing that their voice is coming through loud and clear.

Premium productivity for the fast-paced executive

In the fast-paced world of finance, corporate executives need mobile devices that allow them to perform their best work efficiently. Samsung Galaxy mobile devices are built for productivity first.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G allows corporate executives to do more with less equipment. A three-in-one solution designed for ultimate productivity, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is a phone when folded; a slim tablet when unfolded, and when connected to DeX, it powers a desktop-like experience  – ideal for multitasking executives who do most of their work on their mobile device.

“The new Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is the mobile workhorse the post-pandemic executive needs,” said Edwards. From work, to home, to a business dinner, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G acts as a functional workspace for wherever the day takes them, with a foldable screen that can be adjusted for a side-by-side view of multiple windows, or turned into one, expansive display.”

Executives can drag and drop text, and work across three apps at once, giving them a powerful mobile workspace that folds to fit in their pocket. With the first S Pen-compatible Galaxy Z Series device[2], they can even jot down notes while video calling — no paper necessary.

With all that multi-tasking and work on the go, busy executives need battery life to power through their days. The Galaxy Z Fold3 5G comes with an all-day battery[3] and 25W Super Fast Charging[4] so more time is spent on taking care of business.

Supporting employees’ wellness and fitness goals

Ideally, cutting-edge technology won’t just give employees the tools they need to perform their jobs, but also help them be their best selves – which means supporting their wellness and fitness. This is especially vital today, as the lines between work and home life have become increasingly blurred.

“It’s no secret that employees have been more sedentary since the pandemic hit, as their typical routines and commutes to and from work have been upended,” said Edwards. “Corporate employers can do their part to support wellness by offering employees tools that help them be more aware of their well-being. The savviest employers will even take this one step further by instituting incentives and contests to help encourage movement.”

For those turning to technology for workplace well-being, the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 is equipped to help employees track workouts, monitor their blood oxygen level[5], and for the very first time, calculate their body mass composition. Employees can also choose from a wide range of guided workouts, and take part in Group Challenges with their friends, family or co-workers.

With call and text capabilities, employees can easily connect their Galaxy Buds Pro to their Watch to accommodate work or personal calls while out for a mid-day walk or light jog. Equipped with Active Noise Cancellation, the Buds Pro cut out external background noise so workers can block out ambient noise stemming from a busy household or neighbourhood street.

As more and more companies announce their return-to-office plans, demand for technology that can help Financial Service employees do more with less, and maximize mobility, will increase dramatically.

While the future of work may look different than we’re used to, the right tools and technologies can support employees in the new mobile-centric workplace. From flexibility to productivity to wellness, Samsung is committed to delivering technology solutions that help Financial Services employees on all fronts.
