Chocolate Gol Gappas! Yes, Real India is Hotter than Chicken Tikka Curry

When you bit into some tangy Gol Gappas at your favourite chat place last week, there was Karan in Bengaluru breaking a stereotype about the street food of India as he gulped down Gol Gappas of another kind. Chocolate Gol Gappas!

Sounds absurd? Yet, now that you have heard of it, we bet, you can’t stop wondering what it tastes like. Well, that’s India! So diverse that every corner of the country has something unique and delicious to offer. No longer just a land of butter chicken and paneer tikka. As Samsung’s #IndiaReadyAction campaign spreads among the millennials, oodles of videos have flooded in breaking this very stereotype.

Another misconception- Indian spices is equivalent to being spicy. As one of the top five entries proved, we eat healthy dishes like poha (flat rice) and nutritious Daliya (savoury porridge), made with spices but not necessarily hot or spicy, simply flavourful and definitely nourishing.

That’s not it…there’s more to salivate about! From Goan fish curry, to Mumbai’s Pav Bhaji to cuisine from all over the globe. Fruit gateaux, chocolate mousse, nitrogen ice-cream, tiramisu, – name it and we can make it. Not just a poor replica of its original form but to mouth-watering perfection.

After all, India is the land of food. All kinds of food. The only stereotype that should remain is that Indian food is simply scrumptious.
