GALAXY Note hits European markets

London, United Kingdom – October 27, 2011 – Samsung Electronics announced the commercial availability of the GALAXY Note in the European market starting from Germany.

The GALAXY Note features the world’s first and largest 5.3” HD Super AMOLED display. This is an expansive high-resolution smart screen that provides an immersive and best in class viewing experience while ensuring smartphone portability and on the go usability. Additionally, an advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen, combines with the GALAXY Note’s full touch screen to introduce a unique user-interface. Taking full advantage of the large display, GALAXY Note users will be able to multi-task, create and consume more, with fewer interruptions, while on the go.

Specially Designed Applications

Together with commercial availability of the GALAXY Note, Samsung also announced the launch of ‘S Choice’, a new category at Samsung Apps, with applications specially designed for the GALAXY Note’s S Pen function. New applications under this offering will include Soonr, OmniSketch, Zen Brush, ComicBook!, and iAnnotate PDF.

Stunning Visual Experience

The GALAXY Note’s high-resolution display ensures that e-books, PowerPoint presentations, news apps and web-pages can be viewed comfortably with minimal scrolling or zooming. Minimizing the need to switch between applications, the GALAXY Note’s HD super AMOLED screen is large enough to allow meaningful split-screen operation and true multi-tasking; the most frequently used native apps can be operated side-by-side, reducing interruptions. Additionally, the 5.3” display is the largest ever included in a primary mobile device; measuring just 9.6mm thick, the GALAXY Note fits comfortably in a pocket to offer true portability.

Power, Performance and a Superior User Experience

GALAXY Note’s 1.4GHz dual-core processor ensures the device is incredibly fast and a smooth user interface ensures seamless usability. Lightning fast network speeds are enabled through the HSPA+ and LTE-enabled device’s super-fast connection, ensuring a quick and seamless browsing experience. This means that users can stream videos in real-time or engage with their friends through online gaming platforms, facilitated through Samsung’s Game Hub.

Advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen, is combined with the GALAXY Note’s full touch screen enabling a unique user-interface. The incorporated digital S Pen can be used for accurate sketching and artwork, while superior handwriting recognition allows ideas to be freely captured and shared with other devices without the need to perform any additional digitization; handwritten text is accurately converted into digital characters.
