U.K. on November 4, 2025

As a Worldwide Mobile and Computing Equipment Partner of IOC, Samsung Electronics has announced the winners of the inaugural Solve for Tomorrow (SFT) European Competition, following three days of dynamic, in-person workshops and idea pitches in Milan.
An initiative designed to empower young innovators to address pressing global challenges through technology and creativity, the competition brought together ten finalist teams from across Europe. The five teams that emerged victorious, along with their winning innovations, are as follows:
- Curastep (U.K.): A smart IoT biometric shoe that empowers diabetes patients with foot problems to stay active
- Liova (France): An eco-designed power bank using components from old devices
- My Hormone (Hungary): A comprehensive educational resource on female hormonal balance, addressing gaps in public health
- SkillFIT (Germany): An AI-powered platform focusing on improving fairness physical education in schools
- VisionNex (Czech Republic): Affordable smart glasses that translate visual scenes into spoken descriptions, empowering visually impaired people to be more active in their environments
Representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Young Leaders Programme mentored the European finalists during the event, helping to strengthen their storytelling and pitching skills. The IOC Young Leaders Programme is one of the IOC’s flagship initiatives designed to empower young people to drive positive change through sport, reflecting IOC’s mission and the Olympism365 framework.
The participants were also joined by Samsung’s Chief Marketing Officer for Europe, Benjamin Braun, and Samsung Italy’s Head of CRM and Media, Cristina Mangiarotti, who shared valuable leadership insights and advice about their projects.

With Europe’s top five teams now established, other regions will hold online judging sessions or carry out document screenings to select their own top candidates.
Through these regional evaluations, 20 candidate teams will be chosen from around the world, and a global judging round will take place in December to select the final 10 that will serve as ambassadors at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
