Samsung Introduces Color E-Paper at Renowned Buenos Aires Restaurant Tegui Barra
Argentina on March 18, 2026
Samsung Electronics has introduced its 32-inch Color E-Paper at Tegui Barra, a new dining concept by renowned Argentine chef Germán Martitegui, integrating digital signage into the restaurant’s design-focused experience.
Tegui was originally founded in 2009 and has earned international recognition. In 2025, the restaurant was relaunched as Tegui Barra in Buenos Aires’ Recoleta district as part of a multi-concept culinary space. The new iteration represents a more dynamic and open format, maintaining Tegui’s original identity while adopting a refreshed approach centered on design and customer experience.
Within this environment, Samsung’s Color E-Paper has replaced traditional printed menus. The solution delivers a paper-like visual aesthetic while enabling digital flexibility, allowing the restaurant to easily and efficiently update menu content with minimal energy consumption. This approach eliminates the need for QR codes or mobile devices, preserving a seamless dining experience aligned with Tegui’s visual identity.
“We explored many options: we considered a chalkboard, but we weren’t convinced by the chalk; QR codes seemed inconvenient, and being a sustainable restaurant, printing menus on paper every day wasn’t an option either.
Finally, with Samsung Color E-Paper, we found an ally that allows us to maintain our identity and aesthetic, while also changing the menu very easily.”
— Germán Martitegui, chef and founder of Tegui
Color E-Paper operates without backlighting and the display maintains a static image with zero watts of power, reducing unnecessary energy usage without compromising reliability.1 When content is updated, overall energy use remains far lower than that of conventional digital signage, which helps lower operating costs over time. With a rechargeable, embedded battery and USB Type-C support options, the display can be deployed without permanent power cables. Its ultra-thin and lightweight design, weighing approximately 2.5kg with the battery, allows for versatile installation without visible cabling, supporting clean and minimalist interiors.
By combining sustainability, design and technological innovation, the implementation of Color E-Paper at Tegui Barra demonstrates how digital signage can adapt to premium hospitality environments. This highlights Samsung’s continued expansion of Color E-Paper’s potential across industries like gastronomy and retail, offering solutions that balance efficiency, flexibility and visual appeal while enhancing customer experiences.
