A team of professional skydivers formed the phone's unfolded shape.

To promote the launch of Galaxy Z Fold8, Samsung Gulf Electronics recently teamed up with Skydive Dubai to perform a bold aerial display, in which a team of professional skydivers formed the phone’s unfolded shape thousands of feet above the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, one of the UAE’s premier skydiving landmarks.

Weighing just 201 grams, Galaxy Z Fold8, is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold device to date, making it small enough to easily fit in the pocket of a skydiving suit. The new design offers a 10:16 cover screen for everyday use and a 4:3 main screen that provides a larger, richer experience when viewing, reading and playing games.

The skydivers wore Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, to synchronize their timing and maintain their positions with extreme precision. Galaxy Watch Ultra2, in particular, is designed to deliver reliable performance even in the harshest environments and conditions. It brings an IP69K rating, a titanium body for enhanced durability, and a display with a brightness of up to 5,000 nits, ensuring visibility even during skydiving.

Emirati athlete and XDubai paratrooper Ahmed Al Shehhi joined the performance, documenting the experience from the ground through to its execution. During the final jump, Al Shehhi accompanied the skydiving team as they exited the aircraft, capturing additional footage and documenting a unique perspective of the Galaxy Z Fold8-inspired formation as it came together in the sky.

On a wider level, the aerial display symbolized the fundamental innovation of Galaxy Z Fold8. Building on seven generations of Samsung’s foldable engineering, the new form factor is intended to enhance how users today create, consume and interact with content.
