The New Galaxy Z Series Earns Strong Early Reviews From European Consumers

Samsung Electronics’ new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8 have received strong early reviews from European consumers, following record-breaking pre-orders for the lineup in the region. The new Galaxy Z series has earned an average consumer review score of 4.8 out of 5 stars, with users highlighting its innovative design, advanced cameras, and the quality and flexibility of its screens.
This positive response comes as demand for foldable experiences continues to grow. A July 2026 Censuswide survey of over 4,000 smartphone users in the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, and Italy found that 69% of respondents wanted a slim everyday smartphone that could unfold into a larger screen. In addition, 85% reported leaving tasks unfinished on their smartphones before completing them on a larger device. Respondents identified comparing information side by side (31%), completing tasks without switching devices (30%), and enjoying entertainment on a larger screen (29%) as among the leading benefits of foldable devices.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra has been particularly appealing to power users and mobile professionals, who have highlighted its large display, multitasking capabilities, camera performance, battery life, and lightweight design. Consumers have also praised the ease of switching between conventional smartphone use and an expanded screen for productivity and entertainment, demonstrating the multiple use cases in a single form factor.
Galaxy Z Fold8 has broadened the appeal of book-style foldables with its lighter, slimmer design, accounting for more than 40% of the new Galaxy Z series’ pre-orders in Europe. Consumers have responded positively to its screen size, versatility, and improved foldable display with a reduced crease.
Galaxy Z Flip8, meanwhile, has attracted consumers with its compact design, enhanced FlexWindow, and hands-free camera experiences. Its customizable cover screen and 6.9-inch main display combine portability with a larger viewing experience when unfolded.
