How the Galaxy Tab S11 Series Is Supporting the U.K.’s Craft Renaissance
U.K. on September 17, 2025

A new study has revealed that traditional crafts and hobbies are experiencing a major revival across the United Kingdom, as people increasingly look to counterbalance the demands of fast-paced modern living. Activities like baking, gardening and knitting are enjoying renewed popularity, with four in 10 Brits reporting they have either taken up or revisited a hobby within the past year. The research was commissioned by Samsung to mark the launch of its Galaxy Tab S11 series, which comes with the Galaxy AI-powered Drawing Assist feature to enhance and transform sketches.
To celebrate this revival, Samsung sent Hilary and Michael Whitehall, the parents of comedian Jack Whitehall, on an interactive date to an art studio in London. Instead of traditional brushes and canvases, the pair used Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra to create portraits, which were then reimagined in vibrant styles such as illustration, pop art and 3D cartoon, through Samsung Sketch to Image technology. The Whitehalls praised the innovation for making drawing more accessible and enjoyable, especially for those with limited artistic skills.

On a wider scale, technology is playing a supportive role in the U.K.’s revival of hobbies. While the movement celebrates “IRL” creation, nearly three-quarters of respondents said they would leverage technology to enhance their artistic endeavors. Galaxy AI now allows budding creatives to sketch an idea and instantly receive artistic assistance, bridging the gap between imagination and reality. In this sense, the movement is blending tradition and innovation, where the tactile satisfaction of working with physical materials is supported, not replaced, by technology.

Embodying this synergy, the Galaxy Tab S11 series delivers the company’s most intelligent and advanced tablet experience yet. The series features Samsung’s thinnest-ever tablet design, a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and a redesigned S Pen for precision sketching. The tablets have been built for effortless productivity, with Drawing Assist and Sketch to Image providing everyone with the ability to quickly turn their ideas into masterpieces.
