Museo del Prado and Samsung joined to improve public experience in the context of exhibition, educative and informative activities organized by the museum José Pedro Pérez-Llorca; Museo del Prado Royal Patronage president; Uitack Kim, Samsung president; Miguel Zugaza, Museo del Prado director; and Francisco Hortigüela, Samsung Corporative Marketing general manager in Spain, took part in the signing event.

According to this agreement, Samsung incorporates to Museo del Prado sponsorship program as a Protector member, in quality of Technological Collaborator. During the two years that will last this agreement, Samsung will develop a digital system that makes the integral managing of the information and public attention services easier; it will provide accessible information points in the museum entrances and box offices with WiFi and NFC and it will equip educative areas with several devices and innovative technological proposals of digital classroom, among other projects.

The first of these collaborations has just been materialized with the occasion of ‘Rome into the pocket’ exposition, it has also been presented an exhibition that through 51 works, goes deep into the learning process of a young group of Spanish artists pensioner by the Royal Academy of Arts in San Fernando between 1758 and 1764. During the opening period of the exposition and thanks to Samsung collaboration, the visitor will be able to enjoy the unique experience of going through the drawing notebooks pages of Mariano Salvador Maella, José del Castillo and Francisco de Goya, Museo del Prado´s properties, using a tablet.

Moreover, a workshop for Art School students has been programmed to initiate them into drawing in the Galaxy Note devices, inspired on the exhibited works.

 

This project is a proof more of how we work to achieve our goal of improving people’s life thanks to devices that are available to everyone.
