At CES 2014, Samsung Breaks New Ground in Laundry and Floor Care with Expanded Lineup of Home Appliances

America’s fastest growing home appliance brand delivers the industry’s largest laundry pairs and enters upright vacuum category with first-ever fully detachable handheld hybrid model

Samsung Electronics announced innovative new home appliance products that make consumers’ laundry and floor care routines quicker and easier, giving them the gift of time. With an unmatched level of performance, convenience, design and energy efficiency, Samsung makes it easy to clean even the biggest load of laundry or most hard-to-reach corner of the floor. Its lineup of thoughtfully and ergonomically designed products – including industry-leading 5.6 cu. ft. capacity front load and top load laundry pairs, as well as two new vacuum products – will be on display at the 2014 International CES from Jan. 7-10, 2014.

Super Capacity Laundry Loads Done in Just Half an Hour

With its 5.6 cu. ft. capacity washer and 9.5 cu. ft. capacity dryer, the Samsung WF9000 front-load laundry pair offers more capacity. Even when washing giant loads, like two king-size comforters, consumers just need one cycle to get it all done. The wash cycle is quicker than ever, thanks to the larger drum size and SuperSpeed technology that washes faster without sacrificing performance, unlike conventional front load models. As a result, wash time is cut to 30 minutes, saving consumers more than three hours a week. Consumers also don’t sacrifice cleanliness for capacity, with Samsung’s PowerFoam™ technology, which pre-dissolves detergent into a powerful yet gentle foam that penetrates fabrics more deeply, quickly and thoroughly to efficiently wash even the biggest loads.

The front load laundry pair is also intuitively designed for convenience. Its four inches of additional height, shallower depth and larger door enable consumers to comfortably load their laundry without needing to bend over, which can lead to discomfort and backaches. The pair also dazzles with its rich, modern color palette, chrome detailing and more decorative look on the control panel. The WF9000 is recognized as “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2014” and features high-efficiency LED lighting in both the washer and dryer drums for better illumination and additional energy savings.

The Samsung WF9000 front-load laundry pair will be available in White and Onyx in Spring 2014.

A Top Load Laundry Pair That’s Easy to Reach

Design and performance meet in the industry’s largest Samsung WA9000 5.6 cu. ft. top-load washer and 9.5 cu. ft. dryer. Ever had to use a step stool to reach to the bottom of the washer drum or practically crawl into the dryer to grab an out-of-reach sock? Those days are over. While the pair’s capacity exceeds current industry leaders, Samsung created the EZ Reach washer, featuring a lower top and a shallower, wider tub — at least three inches wider than comparable models – as not to inhibit use of the appliance by the average consumer.

Samsung knows laundry: It was ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Clothes Washers” in the J.D. Power 2013 Laundry Appliance Satisfaction Study for the fifth year in a row. That’s why the new WA9000 washer features proprietary AquaJet™ Cleaning Technology, which delivers detergent with a concentrated water spray that allows it to distribute evenly and penetrate into fabric fast. Its show-stopping design brings “wow” to the laundry room with chrome detailing around the control panel, ice blue LED display lights and stainless-steel look exterior.

The Samsung WA9000 top-load laundry pair will be available in Stainless Platinum and White in Spring 2014.

A New Era in Floor Care

To ramp up its vacuum cleaner business in 2014, Samsung offers an additional premium solution to U.S. consumers’ floor care needs with its new VU7000 Motion Sync upright vacuum cleaner. The VU7000 features an innovative Full Detachable Handheld vacuum that can be completely detached from the main body to allow consumers to easily clean hard to reach places. The handheld vacuum has its own motor for ultimate portability. As a whole unit, the vacuum provides powerful cleaning on both carpets and hard floors. Also, the vacuum features CycloneForce multi™ Technology: 9-Cyclonic chambers that keep fine dust and debris from the filters to offer powerful suction and performance.

The VU7000 upright also features revolutionary Motion Sync Design, which was first introduced in September 2013 in Europe on Samsung’s Motion Sync Canister models. With Motion Sync Design, a swivel brush and large, reverse-cambered wheels offer maximum steer-ability to smoothly tackle corners and sharp turns. In 2014, Samsung will also bring the Motion Sync Canister to the U.S. market.

The Samsung Motion Sync Upright Vacuum and the Motion Sync Canister Vacuum will be available in early Spring 2014.
