Samsung Electronics is proud to announce a partnership with motain, creators of one of the most complete football app for Smart TV – called THE Football App. Offering in-depth coverage of more than 40 football leagues and events worldwide in 5 languages, the app is constantly updated to provide fans with breaking news, live commentaries and statistics as well as video highlights, ensuring a truly immersive experience. The app is now free for Samsung Smart TV users.

We’re delighted to welcome motain’s THE Football App to Samsung Smart TV. As more people engage with Smart TV it is essential we provide the highest quality of service. With THE Football App our audience can stay up-to-date with all the action.

THE Football App has an intuitive interface, with the easy-to-navigate visual panels bringing users closer to the games that matter. Match day build-ups, press conferences, pre-match reports and player interviews are all included within the service.

We’re happy to provide our successful smart phone app on Samsung’s market–leading TV platform as well and allow users to experience our premium football content through this attractive channel.

THE Football App launched in 2009 under its German brand iLiga. With over six million mobile downloads, users consumed an incredible 45 years of football in February 2012 alone. THE Football App is available in time for this summer’s incredible football schedule (including Euro 2012) as well as next season’s leagues and tournaments across Europe. The app will be made available on Samsung 2011 and 2012 TV and AV range and is available in 5 languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

THE Football App is also being used in Samsung’s ‘Because It Matters’ campaign.  This campaign serves as a call to all football fans to share their passion for the game and at the same time, allows them to compete to win amazing prizes. With this campaign Samsung wants to hear what fans have to say about football and why it really matters to them. Visit www.samsung.com/becauseitmatters to find out more.
