Personal Wellness App ‘S Health’ for GALAXY S III
Samsung Electronics announced the availability of S Health, a personal wellness application for the Samsung GALAXY S III.
Initially demonstrated at the GALAXY S III Unpacked launch in May 2012, S Health collects health data to assist users in living a healthier lifestyle. The application is compatible with a number of healthcare sensors such as blood glucose meters, blood pressure monitors and body composition scales. It enables the sensors to transfer a wide variety of health measurements automatically to the GALAXY S III via Bluetooth or USB, which S Health users to communicate information on the user’s health.
S Health collects health data and graphs or tables the results to provide a full picture of the user’s health in a digestible, easy-to-understand format. S Health has the ability to track and chart health readings over prolonged periods, which is of benefit for users who need to monitor their conditions regularly. Users can also enter data manually for diet, exercise, medication intake, or other pertinent health criteria.
Modern-day pressures can make living a healthy lifestyle a challenge, and being able to share personal success stories can aid motivation in accomplishing set health goals. To help users promote and share their achievements, S Health integrates social network integration and enables health updates and messages to be posted online on Twitter.
S Health is available for download in Western Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) and Korea through Samsung’s More Services pre-loaded application on the Galaxy S III. Samsung is planning to introduce the S Health in more markets gradually.
