Samsung Cameras Receive Prestigious Award Recognitions
Samsung Electronics recently has won a series of prestigious iF Awards for outstanding design quality, for the Samsung MultiView MV800 and the high-performance NX200 compact system camera. The iF seals bestowed upon these devices acknowledge their highly innovative designs, taking into account parameters such as imaging power, usability, and form factor.
The iF Awards – established in 1953 and judged by internationally-renowned names from the fields of design, business, industry, and education – are considered one of the world’s most important independent awards bodies recognizing innovative product design. In bestowing the Samsung devices with an iF seal, the panel praised the MV800 in particular for its slim compact design and the superior picture quality offered by the device’s unique 180 degree flip-out display, as well as the intuitive Smart Touch 3.0 user interface. The NX200, meanwhile, was singled-out for its state of the art usability, with its 3.0” AMOLED display and ‘smart panel’ technology, as well as its sophisticated finish.
Both models, launched to much critical acclaim in 2011, have received a number of prestigious awards from highly respected specialist publications globally. These include India’s Golden Peacock Innovative Product Award and France’s Les Images d’or Magazine’s ‘2011 Best Innovative Product’ for the MV800. Not to be outshone, the NX200 also received the British Amateur Photographer Magazine’s ‘Consumer Compact System Camera of the Year’ and ePhotozine Magazine’s ‘Mirrorless Camera of the Year’, while What Digital Camera Magazine awarded Samsung with its first gold award for their 60mm Macro lens technology.
In addition to this series of award accreditations, the MultiView MV800 and NX200 have received glowing reviews from hard-hitting publications such as the Wall Street Journal and New York Times following their 2011 releases. The New York Times piece praised the NX200 for its iFunction feature, Smart Panel controls and capacity to shoot at high speed, remarking on the model’s ability to capture “sensational pictures”. The Wall Street Journal, meanwhile, commended the MV800 for its picture quality, commenting, “The camera is picture perfect and chic … weighing at just about 4.27 ounces without battery or memory card.”
