Samsung Expands Integrated SMART Signage Portfolio with New Indoor and Outdoor LED Solutions

Samsung Electronics is showcasing the latest additions to its 2015 SMART Signage portfolio at InfoComm 2015, representing solutions for a broad range of digital signage environments. From 10-inch touch displays to innovative LED outdoor signage and seamless video walls, Samsung brings together the hardware and software necessary to achieve a true connected display experience. InfoComm attendees can see the full lineup of Samsung Electronics display innovations for retail, corporate and other environments at the Orange County Convention Center, Booth #2543, from June 17-19.

Seamless Video Walls

 

Any irregularity in a video wall’s brightness and color accuracy across displays can negatively impact the viewing experience and message delivery. To eliminate these types of color expression gaps and maintain a fully-aligned, consistent and captivating large-scale presentation, Samsung video walls feature advanced factory tuning, innovative hardware and exceptional user calibration tools. By combining these advanced color management solutions with its professional-grade SMART Signage displays, Samsung video walls enable seamless delivery of digital content for informational and promotional impact.

 

Samsung also is introducing its first video wall solution designed specifically for use in broadcast and studio settings. The 55-inch UDE-S video wall display offsets the color discrepancies that can result from large angle image and video transmission. The UDE-S displays feature a specialized panel for low temperature (2,800-6,500K) usage and 100-300nit brightness that ensures a consistent, brilliant presentation and life-like picture.

 

Further, all Samsung video wall displays shipped in 2015 will be factory calibrated and include Samsung Color Expert software, a free program that enables users to manage brightness and color uniformity. This ensures consistency across a single display, as well as multiple displays, resulting in vivid, accurate images. Samsung’s factory calibration process technology also manages the white balance of each display for uniformity across multiple displays in large scale, while multi-step greyscale calibration provides natural shading and gradation without color distortion. An ACM chipset also makes the uniformity possible as it enables the display to remember the accurate color.

Eye-Catching LED Signage

 

In light of the rapid proliferation of LED displays in various corporate, retail, entertainment, and transportation environments, Samsung LED Signage integrates a wide range of innovative LED solutions with the latest advancements in display technology. Samsung Direct View LED technology is ideal for creating seamless digital signage with superior picture quality and high resolution pixel pitch. Designed for retail, corporate, transportation and broadcasting environments, this 1.15mm pixel pitch LED signage features 133 inches of continuous, Wide Quad High Definition (WQHD) resolution (1.5 times as many pixels as Full HD) and delivers an impressive, eye-catching consumer experience out-of-the-box.

 

InfoComm attendees will also have an opportunity to experience Samsung’s LED Signage products configured not only in rectangular layouts, but also in customized curved layouts for a more immersive viewing experience. Samsung provides a full lineup of LED displays, extending from 1.5mm fine pixel pitch to 25mm pixel pitch for outdoor environments.

High-Brightness Solutions for Outdoor Environments

 

Samsung also offers a suite of outdoor and semi-outdoor signage designed to help business owners produce brilliant, business messaging with highly-visible and energy-efficient LED BLU displays. The Samsung OHD Series SMART Signage displays deliver a premium signage solution that can increase brand awareness, improve traffic and enhance revenue. These IP56 certified high-brightness (3,000 nit), high-contrast (5000:1) displays provide exceptionally clear picture quality, even in bright environments, while maximizing durability in harsh conditions (including exposure to dust, water and heat), 24/7. The display’s easy-to-integrate content management platform features HDBase-T connection, the web-based Samsung Smart Signage Platform (SSSP) and Samsung MagicInfo solutions for responsive and real-time business messaging deployment. OHD Series displays also employ energy efficient technology to minimize the increased power consumption of a high-brightness screen, and come equipped with advanced connectivity technology that enables convenient display management in remote locations.

 

Designed to deliver consistently brilliant performance, Samsung’s OMD Series convey easily readable text and bright graphics in high ambient light environments and outdoor applications, including transportation facilities, banking and retail storefronts, sports arenas, quick service restaurants and convention centers (outdoor use requires custom-designed weatherproof enclosure). At 2,500 nits, the OMD Series displays offer a high contrast ratio of 5,000:1 for consistent, clear and vivid delivery of visual messaging and come in two configurations:

  • The OMD-W Series is ideally suited for semi-outdoor use and stand-alone applications where brightness and visibility are the main requirements, such as retail storefront windows. With thin bezels of 9.3mm and under, these displays are ready to install and will keep the focus on your content rather than the display itself.
  • The OMD-K Series is an optimized panel kit with a customized housing that can be used to install the display in an outdoor environment, such as drive-thru locations, wayfinding kiosks and entertainment venues, for all-weather durability. The panels are VESA compliant to easily mount inside the custom enclosure.

 

Among the other innovations on display at the Samsung booth is an expanded portfolio of UHD 4K displays, with models ranging from 46- to 76-inches, designed to drive the continued transition to 4K. Additionally, Samsung’s SE790C is the world’s first monitor to receive the Windows 10 certification logo and is 100 percent compatible with the Windows 10 platform. The SE790C curved display is designed to match the natural curve of the human eye. This unique composition minimizes distortion and reflection that can fatigue viewer eyes when used for long periods.

 

Samsung also participated in the InfoComm opening keynote, on Tuesday, June 16 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at the Chapin Theater.
