Samsung Receives ‘2015 ATD Best Awards’ for Excellence in Talent Development
Samsung Electronics ranked 3rd at the 2015 ATD Best Awards, receiving recognition for the first time as one of the best organizations for talent development by the Association for Talent Development (ATD), the world’s largest association for talent development.
Since 2003, the ATD has annually awarded the ATD Best Awards to carefully selected organizations for their cultures of talent development, education practices, and the innovativeness and effectiveness of their education programs. Every year, numerous businesses in both the private and public sectors, as well as non-profit organizations apply for these awards. Among the candidates that entered this year, 30 were recognized.
Samsung received one of the ATD Best Awards this year for its commitment to talent development, continuous innovation and the creativity of its training and teaching programs, as well as education strategies for continued globalization.
Samsung has been stepping up its effort to innovate and reinvent its overall talent development system by unifying education systems among all of its subsidiaries across the globe, strengthening leadership education programs, and developing a dynamic learning system based on MOSAIC, an internal system to promote collective intelligence.
In addition, Samsung established the Samsung Electronics Leadership Center (SELC) in Yongin, Korea last year. SELC serves as an important venue of education for all Samsung employees around the world. Through SELC, Samsung aims to share its corporate values, culture and strategies with employees to foster the next generation of leaders, and to provide necessary education for them to become specialists in their own fields of expertise.
“It is a great honor to win the ATD Best Award, the highest honor in the field of corporate education,” said Patrick Chung, Executive Vice President of Corporate Human Resources Team at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to develop best practices that allow our employees to grow professionally, which will in turn help our company to grow through their talent and contributions.”
The 2015 ATD Best Awards ceremony took place in the Ronald Reagan Building and the International Trade Center located in Washington DC on October 27.
The ATD isheadquartered in the U.S., and is the world’s largest association for talent development with approximately 36,000 members in 120 countries.
